So we delist/trade/retire 8.
We bring on 3 and have 4 picks which equals 7 on.
So we are either going to elevate a Rookie, bring on a delisted FA or use a pick in the PSD

It's 9 all up - Wood, Ugle, Rounds, Ceglar, Buckley, Tarrant, Dawes, Wellingham and Young out. Three senior players bought in, so 6 net. We'll take 4 live picks, another for a ruck and possibly a delisted player, although there could be a rookie upgrade of Mooney or Williams.

Yep, you're correct.
In that case I can see Williams being elevated leaving 1 pick to be used as you suggest.

Not a bad position, I think

Are there any who can kick to advantage (like Simpson has shown in his clips) that we are keen on?

or are we going for grunt but lesser skilled? which would be at odds of what Buckley is after from his presser's.
I would assume, and again I'm only assuming here, that we will go for a few different types because I highly doubt we'll pick up three inside midfielders. Simpson is about an 80-85% chance to be there at our pick, and I know I'd be more than happy to take him if he was there.

Yeah cheers, just every keeps linking us to players who are either slow , a midget, poor by foot but great work ethic, or a combination of all 3, would just be good to be linked with something to get excited about lmao.

Thanks for the replies and yeah I know we will likely go for 4 differing types just curious to see if we were even looking at addressing the lack of quality finishers we have ( i know young was bought in for this).

Guys and girls like i have said before let's not get overly excited for the up coming draft.

I mean its not like we have 3 picks between 1-10.That can nearly guarantee us 3 top players but between 17-21

Anything can transpire. Its hit and miss and hope for the best between 15-21 especially if Hine doesn't rate this draft.
Hey, as long as Mini skips & you agree, I'm on board.
Bettin' the house.

In all seriousness though I'm glad you've pointed out that picks 15-21 are not PROBABLY as good as 1-10.
Thanks.

Put it this way, from the way I've read it, the clubs rate the mids this way:

Macrae
Garner/Stringer (depending on whether you need the taller stronger mid who can play third tall)
Menzel
Vlaustuin

We want Brisbane to take Jaksch, because if they do, I think Vlaustuin may slide. If they don't, he won't.
A chance you'd think. They just got Moloney, their mid depth is pretty good without the names of the past.

They missed Tippy, Clarke is at Melb, & Brown is like playing a pokie right now. Infrequent payout.

Could well be in the market for a marking fwd.

You like Dick?
Reminds me of an old fantasy game where part of my interchange was:

Hooker - Swallow - Dick

This was before Andy Swallow was as good as he is how, and Brad Dick was like a second year player. Only got Hooker to ensure this could be made possible.

I am going to make a bold prediction that Collingwood won't be looking at Nathan Hrovat - Yes, we have taken some shorter types in the past, but they were usually with late picks and/or they were small forwards where their height is less relevant to their position.

It would be entirely out of character for Derek Hine to take a short midfielder with a first round pick - He'll take complete footballers of medium height for their position, or athletic prospects with good size for their position.

I recall Hine stated in Blairs draft year, 2008, if Blair was a few cms taller he'd have been drafted rather then rookied. That tells me you're on the money.

Height is an issue for him. I think we will still be looking at him or Lonergan for that inside mid role though. Having a look at his highlights he reminds me a lot of Daniel Kerr. Daniel Kerr is listed at 178. Hrovat I think at draft camp measured up at 176.

I'll PM you the info I know, I just don't want to be going into too much detail over the internet publicly ;)
Why not? it's not like any opposition recruiters ever read these forums let alone would believe an anonymous poster.

Even so if the opposition want a certain player with a pick before us they'll do it anyway. It's not like they're going to choose someone who they dont rate as highly as someone else just to spite Collingwood.
