Why would we give a pick 15 or so picks higher than he was drafted after four years on a list and only 17 games.!

Because he’s been drafted and has played 11 games out of a possible 14 in the 2nd best team. He will cost more then Brockman imo

Injured a lot though, which is concerning.

Mind you, the fitness team this year have worked wonders, so who knows?

We need bo Allen split pick 3 get as much talent in including him
Christ sakes. He's not somebody to split over.

Honestly this thirst for WA player has got to stop. Bo Allen is at the same level as clay hall. I'd argue even less proven because Clay Hall dominate wafl league in his draft year and Allen hasn't even played wafl league yet.

Bo Allen is a great player he is jack of all trades master of none. I'm happy to get him not due to splitting our pick 3

Sam Landsberg from HUN is running with the story of the battle for Logan McDonald.

"Fremantle and West Coast have been jostling each other in the race for WA-born key forward Logan McDonald. Collingwood is hoping to spoil the party for both clubs as they join the race for McDonald’s signature."

Not much stated other than Swans tight salary cap and Pies hoping multiple years pick trading would be the Pies only way.

Maybe only part of our play - important to keep the pressure on the Swans salary cap.

Both clubs probably driving up his price to shake the Warner Bros. out.

Yep let's sell the farm for a tall forward. But I hear the call ... he's from WA.

Not sure McDonald has lived up to the hype to date. Only 21 goals in a top of the ladder side, with 4 other swans players having kicked more.

Where does he fit into our side with Allen and Waterman at the peak of their powers & JWilliams looking the shiz?
We love our dual rucks, so you know BWilliams factors in our future forward line plans too.

Don't think we need McDonald, at least not what he'd cost us in draft capital.

We seem to have our fingers in lots of pies atm, wouldn’t read too much into it

  • McDonald
  • Busslinger
  • Baker
  • Cumming
  • Carroll
  • Guelfi
  • Steely Green

All in the last week I think. Might have forgotten one. And no one leaving

Why would we want Logan McDonald given his price and our current forward depth? I mean sure, he’d be great to have but would cost a fortune and doesn’t fill a need, adding to a forward bottleneck.

Would be a complete waste of resources and doubt there is much to it.
May not be our target at all.
Could be a 'nice if he falls in our lap for reasonable bucks' option but the real prize is make Sydney offer a bigger/longer contract and squeeze the cap so our real target(s) become more gettable.

Historically we haven't been that devious though.

Not sure Carlton will see it that way, hopefully they do.

If we are seriously interested in Carroll, hopefully we use Dev Rob as a case study for our pitch, as there is certainly some similarities.

Remind him:
  • He is on the fringe at Carlton.
  • Hasn’t set the world on fire, more so shown glimpses.
  • There are a couple of highly rated brothers coming this year.
  • A highly rated father/son next year.

It’s only going to get tougher to cement a spot. He can stay and fight for a spot but it might not pay off (a trade mightn’t either, no guarantee). As we all know, Dev elected to stay and fight and it certainly isn’t paying off yet, currently two games this season after re-signing for two years.

I think if he requests a trade to us, it would be pretty easy to facilitate with Carlton, a club we have reasonable trade history with.

Just how good is that SA kid who is looking likely to go number 1 next year?

Is it worth putting the opportunity to land him at risk for players in this year's draft?
He's good, breaks tackles and has power through the stoppages along with great vision by hand.
I'm not a fan of his kicking, we're quiet well stocked for his position too.
