I hope we give luke.Parkers manager a call before graham would be handy in the middle even if it was for a year or two similar to what Sam.mitchel brought

Yes the decision last year to use our 2024 2R to trade up 2 spots to get Hall was idiotic
Desperately need some PPs to beef up our hand but think this is very unlikely having won 5 games
There’s every chance we will have four picks in this draft after the TB trade. One is pick 59 and one is pick 23 that may well be handed to Richmond for Baker. That isn’t even close to having plenty of picks in one of, if not the deepest drafts in a decade in an offseason where we should be cutting at least 8 players and probably more.

FB: Hough McGovern Duggan
HB: Ginbey HEdwards Hunt
C: - Yeo -
HF: Ryan Waterman Hewett
FF: Long Allen -
R: - Reid Kelly
INT: JWill, Pick 3, Cole, - -

Then choose from: Maric, Dewar, HJ, Hutchinson, Bazzo, Chesser, before you get any support from fringe veterans, new additions or other draftees.

Need wingers and a ruck badly, plenty to work with otherwise.
Duggan, Hunt, Cole are all crap. Ryan and Kelly should both be traded as they a) could get something in return and b) cut the cancer that is lack of effort each week out of the club

It was our F3 which as it turns out is pick 41. So absolutely agree with you. Pick 40 and pick 41 for pick 38. Genius. Especially with some really good players left on the board that most in here could identify.

Very happy to go cap in hand to the AFL, if it’s good enough for the Shinbeggars then the same standard should be applied to all clubs.

1st-4th yr players

Should be good
Reid
Ginbey
Hough
JWilliams
Hewett**

Hopeful of being good
Maric
Hutch
Long
A.Reid
Dewar

Hall
Culley
Chesser
Bazzo

Trew, LEdwards (may be 5th yr)

That is significant overs so would be hard to say no. However, if we lost Waterman I would be inclined to keep BW and give him another preseason as a forward as was the plan this year before Flynn’s injury.

Otherwise it’s Oscar, JWill and some combo of Darling on his last legs, Archer who may not be ready or Maric/Hutchy who potentially have better suited positions.

Happily would offload BW and Darling to the Dees if we keep Waterman. The only way I would want to trade Jake is if it somehow landed us Warner.

We will already have plenty of picks to attack this draft after the TB trade. If we lose a gun 28 year old (TB) and a gun 26 year old (Jake) as well as the possibility of Fylin’ (27 years old) I would like to see us bring in at least one gun in the 20-25 age bracket (Warner) as well as some established role players like Peatling or Dev as opposed to just a bunch of speculative 18 year olds, given the amount of leadership and experience lost.
Trading Waterman for a top 6 pick means we can feel less bad about trading out our 1st next year for Warner instead of taking a kid

Duggan Cole and Hunt arent crap, theyre just role players being forced to be the main players in the side.
Theyll be fine plugging gaps around the kids in the middle and back half for a few more years, we could do a LOT worse than those 3

Why would a Warner, Peatling come to a team that is already bottom 3 and trading out the quality of Jake. You have to remember besides the draft, players get a choice on where they go via free agency and trade.

If Warner really wants to come home, why owuldnt he want to go to a team thats incredibly young and has a lot of upside and playing alongside Harley Reid?
Hes only a couple of years older than the oldest of our kids, hed be a leader straight away

I wouldnt feel bad, but id rather trade Waterman for him and take 2 high pick mids than just take 1 high pick mid.
Trading away a star key forward at 26 is a bold strategy for an unknown 18 yo mid.

With the view of trying to get a 24 yo superstar mid to pick your club the year after while trying to retain Harley.

Right time to trim the fat:

Delist (I know we can't do all):
Jamieson
Trew
Jones
Chesser
Rawlinson
Burgiel
Sheed? or just keep him meddling in the 2s
Ledwards
Baker or keep for another year, shown more than most above.
Culley

Trade:
BWilliams: don't know he has a role in our fwd50, can't play ruck without letting oppo dominate. He's handy though. So tough decision
Petrol: I think he has the most currency out of any of our plodders
Barrass: Hedwards is ready, he has currency. Seems like the right time.

Burn it down.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised to see the players name Waterman captain next year.

Only one player showed up with effort and heart every match.

It wasn't Duggan or Allen.

Kelly, Barrass, Allen, Ryan etc. would all serve the club better on the trade table than turning up for pre-season training for more of the same.

I would suggest it’s very unlikely. Even more so if Harley hasn’t signed on.

Only hope is he wants every dollar he can get

What would we get for Cripps or Cole at the trade table?
🍩🍩

Cole is a good lock down defender, has pace , hard as a cats head and a neat kick .

Cripps was one of the best pressure forwards in the comp for 10 years and sets the standards for training . Let him pass on his knowledge to our new set of small forwards and show them what it takes to succeed.

These two players are way more valuable to the team than their trade value of basically nothing
