Wouldnt chasing Witts for example and drafting a ruck also fulfill these wants.

Get 3 years of Witts for example, then maybe some random cheapie for a couple of years. By then Dodson will be ready

Have full career of a young ruck and get Witts right now who is far better than Reidy or any of the other blokes you listed. While our mids are young theyd get a very good tap ruckman

Witts just wont budge. A better chance at a ton of others. Reily O'Brien for example would be a easier get.

Dambrosio wasnt some discarded player, Essendon offered him a contract - they wanted to keep him.

He got 16 games in his first 1 and a half seasons at the Dons as a teenager, hardly lacking opportunity

Was offered a 1 year deal and was used as a back up player. Dons thought he couldn’t defend.

Sharpe and Bramble are others who a team saw value in that’s wasn’t their current team.

I really can’t think of too many playing magoos who would be a great pick up for the wings or hbf this year.

Jeffery’s or Budrick at GC maybe if they Rioli but both are contracted I believe

Davies subbed out at GCS again. I wonder if with the emergence of Moyle, Witts would be open to a move on very good money. If Lukosious leaves, BWilliams might have a spot there as a chop out for Moyle and a tall forward if we pay some of his salary whilst Walter develops.

Ryan and BWilliams (with salary contributions) for Davies and Witts and exchange of picks to balance.

Witts is at the end of his career what's the point ?

We need to do what other clubs do and use late picks , rookie or MSD picks

GCS don’t rate Davies and we don’t rate BWilliams yet he’s played every game this year. Seems fair.

Honestly I think Hough will win it this year with Gov and Waterman rounding out the podium but Jake would be a much deserved winner.

That would be a huge achievement for Hough, what a breakout year in a season filled with woe.

We can target contracted players, but Witts is 32 in a couple of weeks. Either in 2025 or 2026 Moyle will be their main ruck for big stints.

Even if we offer Moyle enough to entice him, GC will want the world for him

We should chase Reidy or Pittonet, but that still doesnt mean we dont have to draft a ruckman or the future.

Neither of those two are stars by any means, and if it takes 5 years to develop a ruckman we better get a move on. Barnett seems to have gone to defence now so we have nothing in the pipelines

You forget the trade capital required.

Im inclined to go to the AFL and ask for PP access to get these moves done like NM did with Logue/Tucker . Seems the most likely way to get PP. Would like to do that for Liam Baker if he decides to join for example

We probably need to lose a bit of draft capital to get something to help now unfortunately. Reid/Draper or whoeever we get are not going to develop unless we get a first choice ruck.

Another answer would be to not massively, massively overpay someone who’s played 10 senior games just because they play a position we’re deficient in, when that position isn’t really that important in the scheme of things.
