Have you seen him play for Carlton, he has a very awkward kicking action and seems to favour the handball. He Doesnt look like a player that will improve our squad much. He was around pick 40 in his draft and can see why wasn't taken early as he doesnt seem that good or any better than what we already have and players we are likely to delist.
Would clearly be an improvement for the squad and in a position of need.

Showed some ok signs when he got his chance without fully taking them.

Would be down the list of the young mids we would be looking at though but still an option.

My order would be (3 of these are needed but probably 4 max)
Peatling
Garcia
Sheldrick
Davies ❌
Dev
Erasmus
Carroll
Graham
Parfitt
Brodie

Nope, never seen him play a game of footy, don't really watch that much football at all, didn't even know there was a thing called the VFL before the AFL.......
Don't disagree in the highlights below he favours the handball, but they are smart decisions. Do think he has something to offer us.

Our thoughts on his ability are different, and maybe I shouldn't have of given my opinion as it opens the door, BUT my original question wasn't "what is everyone opinion on Jack", it was what would a trade look like e.g. a 4th rounder?

IF Lalor is going to slide to 6, does that make a pick split more appealing?

That's big.

I don't know if we can take him without a single testing result. Has he done testing at any point in his career? He could have shitty endurance. And God awful agility and horrific speed.

Well, that answers this one then:

Read somewhere that Lalor's hammy is decent and, as well as being done for the year now, probably won't test either. Anyone confirm? WCE_phil ?

I'd be happy to take him at 3, so bring it on. Fitness now becomes a bigger question mark, but midfield ability or production aren't. Would prefer him to Langford.

If we’re splitting 3 with Richmond with 6 and 9 coming back as part of the deal getting us Lalor and Travaglia I’m ok with that.

It would however make the Warner situation a little more complicated. Harley, Warner and Lalor are all such offensive mids which we would need to take into consideration.

West Coast salivating at the possibilities of this. Don't even need to split the pick. Just take the injured bloke at 3 and botch his recovery all of next season so he plays zero games. A win/win.

Hawthorn reportedly have plenty of cap space so suggestions that we might be able to improve our trade return by paying some of TB’s salary aren’t likely to eventuate

They’ll be wanting to keep as much of their draft hand intact as possible and have no need to dilute it to gain cap space they don’t need

If we somehow manage to get their R1 and F1 without anything going back we’ll have done brilliantly

The minimum we should get is their R1 plus 30 or F2 so anything short of that would be disappointing
Agree with all this, although the Hawks have just made verbal commitments to Barrass and Battle for just under $2m a year for 5 years. There are two considerations that would make Barrass and salary more attractive.

The first is Perryman, if he goes to the hawks on 850k or so a year would they need us to contribute salary to get all three within the cap?

The second is if the Hawks are of a mind to make a play for another big fish like LDU or TDK next year. Having Barrass’s salary heavily subsidised may allow them the wiggle room to make one more big play next year for a free agent. They’ve drafted heavily and traded cheaply over the last few years which may allow them to sit out the pointy end of consecutive drafts whilst still building their list.

A cunning plan to pay the salary of other teams players.

Jack Macrae wants out. def not what we need imo tho.

Not what we need as a player but definitely something we should be putting our hand up for if its a salary dump coming with a pick.

We’d never be first in line for this sort of thing though given our location

Uh...what Warner situation?

Slide ? Was he ever in the top 5 ? Fos smillie jagga draiper Langford Reid?
He was as still is in my top 5

Smillie and FOS have been disappointing in 2025 and are not a top 5 lock anymore while huge ??? on Langford’s athleticism

There will not be much consensus this year so Cal will struggle with his predictions
