Hey guys, pardon the intrusion. Whilst I think he's going to be a very good footballer, I was just curious what do you think Luke Jackson currently adds to your team. He does an ok job as a second ruckman but I feel like he gives you nothing as a forward, and he's not very influential around the ground. Think you guys missed an opportunity to bring Brown in this week.

Yeah, we're a long way off our form in the first 10 rounds at the moment.

We can clearly still match it but this week we were asleep for 3 quarters and on for 1.. our pressure was rated as 'poor' at about 155 for both the first & second quarters, but you didn't need stats to tell you that.

And GWS are still a dangerous team, and they were very on.

The midfield needs to lift, Oliver/Trac/Viney/Harmes/Gawn are all good players but the selfishness that had been there over the past couple of years is creeping back into their games - if we don't win a stoppage we get exposed badly and we aren't defending stoppages at all.

Thought the defence was great, May/Lever/Salem, TMac was very good bar missing a couple of gettable shots and some others were servicable.

Our young players almost all looked cooked, Jacko/Riv/Jordan/Koz all look like they could do with a rest and I'm not against making some changes at this point - we've been trending down and this game isn't isolated.

Bring in Chandler/Beford for Koz, Brown/Weid for Jacko and maybe even Lockhart for Riv.

Hunty, had a crack but far out his decision making up fwd was poor.

Probably saw one of his quietest games this year, agree that's a reasonable description of him today but he's normally competitive up forward and very good around the ground.

I think finally now it's time to shake up the side. Too many blokes trending down and not adding enough. Even for the sake of a rocket but we have been basically unchanged all year outside of injuries

Agree 100%

Love Kozzy but he needs a spell, is nowhere near it atm. Also don’t think Viney and Harmes work in the same side.

Hunt/Kozzy/Jackson and Sparrow all not adding a heap ATM and all could be rotated out.
AVB, Bowey, Chandler and hell even donkey Brown.
We need something different. It's all gone stale.

Bring in the destroyer (AVB)

Yeah definitely time to bring in Vanders imo and I honestly wouldn’t mind if we got Bowey in for Hunt - has shown he’s a WAY better user of the ball at VFL level.

Do or die against Port this week, fall out of the top 4 and don’t think we make it back in.

With our percentage we probably need 18 wins to make top 4. So we need to win 6 of the last 7. I think we've blown it.

Don't know what's going on with our defensive structure, the amount of times gws found an easy kick in the corridor was mind boggling. Maybe our defence is tiring from our passive play. We were so passive in that first half no wonder we only scored 3 ****ing goals. It's amazing we beat the bombers last week. We truly lost any ability to play with some dare, haven't seen it for weeks. I feel this is beyond a form slump now.

Hunt and Viney OUT
Bowey and AVB IN

Not only was Viney completely useless all day, he also forced Harmes to play forward until late in the game, who was then influential when finally sent into the middle. He literally caused us to play 2 men down. Hunt 100% cost us a chance with his stupidity, and cowardice to just have a ****ing shot

Focus off the pox forward line for a minute - aren't you glad we have an all-star midfield of Gawn, Petracca, Oliver and (lol) Viney

Yep only dumb campaigners think this is a forward issue solved bringing in one bloke. Our midfield is playing like shit. And it's causing a ripple effect around the ground

Feeling pretty numb after that one, was just a really ordinary afternoon at the footy all round, flat crowd, flat effort, flat result.

Honestly we've had problems in our in game all season, we've just been lucky to get the results, with a couple of really good wins in there too. We're really ordinary to watch, and I've struggled to enjoy watching us play this year, even with those wins.

The common themes being a really strong defensive structure, but getting smashed in centre and around the ground stoppages, and really poor forward entries. Makes for crap viewing because we just can't score, and hence can't put away teams.

Hard to know how the rest of the season plays out, we're too far into the year to still be trying to get things right, and I've have hoped we would've figured out our forward structure by now, but we're looking horrible up there.

Weird to think that if you'd told me we'd be 12-3 I'd reckon I'd be feeling ecstatic, but instead it feels like we might be letting another really good opportunity slip.

That is assuming all those teams don’t drop games they should win which is unlikely. Beat port we go 2 games clear of them again and we are back in the hunt.
They all have piss easy draws. Beating port helps but we have to be perfect on the run home and still hope others stumble. They aren't us.

I get what you’re saying, just I reckon between the 4 teams we are fighting for top 4 I reckon at least one of them drops a game to a bad team.

I get slowing the game down when a team has a run in but we are just taking things too far with our slow ball movement.

Nobody taking chances lately, it's just down the line and hope Gawn or TMac mark the ball. No creativity and switching. No one keen to play on quickly.

Add to that Oliver and Trac playing stuff our stat sheets with pointless handballs at clearances and it's no wonder we can't score for shit.

We're so easy and predictable to play against right now when we have the ball in hand.
