Review Dees v Norf - the Good, Bad & Fugly and a Happy Norf to you all

That last quarter perfectly sums up Goodwins game plan . Playing to save the match, unlike North who were attempting to win the match. Oliver was an embarrassment tonite, Fritsch not much better . A real coach would have dropped those two and Petty during the season but no , not Goodwin . Unfortunately i suspect Goodwin will see out his contract , because i don't think the board has the balls to dump him .
If all it is about is timing Re contract term, then we should jump now.

When supporters just start nodding off, Re our games on TV; it is time.

Fritsch get a hair cut and play with some Vigor. ffs.

Goody will also refuse to trade out any talent like Oliver and Petty again.
Only two worth trading out; Fritz and Oli... They will bring in decent picks.

Petty is a must keep, if he's still onboard with the jumper. I have been thinking that we stopped being thought of as a destination club shortly after our Flag win.

2022ish.

And then Petty wanted out. Drawing the bow back, I wonder if its been about in-house culture.? Maybe that's starting to settle down a bit, with the media attention on us.

We have kids coming thru but not enough of them, and we have to get our culture back to clean living. So the kids can learn the right way, and want to stay on board.

Clean the ranks, and get strong.!

We should win 2 more. Looking at the ladder the teams from saints down won’t get to 11 wins. And with a ten win season when we had a crappy off and pre season I reckon Goody gets another chance. As much as we should move on I can’t see the club doing it.
Can you see us winning a flag in 2025, with Maxy 33, Maysie 33, Viney 31, and Tracca 29, ANB 29...

Always rather win than lose. Seen far too many losses in my life. Would have felt much worse with a loss tonight. Can't stand Norf
Yeah? but is coming second when you play a Few kids looking to future proof; is that really a loss.
Do you think North supporters feel dejected... or positive about they're direction.

I don't want us to gamble our future away on topping up the aging list, to stay in the top 6.. further losing future ground, in forlorn hope.

I don't want to spend my last few years of life with the 'Red&Blue' once again pinned to the bottom of the ladder... get to the draft this year and the next. 2024/25.

Goodwin presser. 'Credit to our guys for finding enough winning moments late in the game to get the result'

Here's an idea instead of trying to hold on to a 39 point lead how about score some goals so we don't have to find winning moments late in games. I can accept that north gaining momentum but surely we can score a few the other way. We went not goalless but scoreless for the last 35 minutes of the game.

Again, our strength is clearly defence. 3rd best. We're still able to defend. Clearly scoring has been the issue. We're not going to improve in this area with what we have. No point dwelling on it. Great at defence, horrible in offence. It's what we've got until coaching and personnel change.

Tmac about the only one playing consistently well and he's said multiple times how he's just out there enjoying it all as he knows he doesn't have long left.
What a ****ing season, our most improved is a 31 year old.

We sacrifice a lot on offense to be good defensively. Current set up doesn't win us games.

Won us a flag and got us into 3 consecutive finals series though. I'm not surprised we're going back to that gameplan. We're not fit enough nor have the personnel anymore to make it successful. The last month or so was enough for Goody to pull the pin on the newer gameplan.. I'm not suggesting the defensive gameplan is the right or wrong way to go. But I'm not surprised after the last month we've had. No coach is going to keep copping beatings like that and continue with the same plan..

We scored 95, 120 and 140 in the finals. Half of what won us games was defence, half was our scoring power when the game was close like the swans. Not just defending and scoring like shit as well. Our lack of scoring has cost us winning any finals since

It's slowly become less and less effective since the flag. If you want to give yourselves a chance you have to innovate. Newer gameplan sucked but basically confirmed to me the coaches have no idea how to get the best out of this list anymore. Going back to the same old with a list that is no longer up to it is just dragging our feet. We got rolled by a Collingwood VFL side and nearly choked against the worst team of the past five years.

Once teams worked out how to shut down our transition plays down Langdon's wing in mid 2022 we've basically had no answers as far as getting the ball into our forwardline goes

Yeah forced us to try and transition through the middle and with us continually only using Sparrow, Oliver, Jordan and Viney there, the risk to oppo was minimal.
Didn't use anything else on our list either

Didn't see the game but Rivers into the middle seemed to go well off reports here. How ****ing long have we been crying out for that? Plenty of other stuff mentioned on here we could do, re smaller forward, Bowey McVee Windsor position changes, get them on ball instead of running with the ****ing same old.

The only changes it seems we have made outside Rivers is Fritsch further up the ground which is absolutely ******ed. ****ing clueless coaching group.

Worth watching his goal of you haven't already.

Saw it on YouTube shorts, ripper. That's what modern midfielders look like, dynamic, run & link up and can kick goals on the run from 50 not inside plodders who can't kick.
