On one hand I think its great that the side is now being held to a higher standard than it was in previous years but fair dinkum.... We won by 16 goals hands and heels.... Only bad to come out of today was Smith's injury. Very interesting that the "dangerous tackle" rule is in place to prevent exactly that sort of incident yet a free kick wasn't paid. Either implement the rule properly or F*** it off.

Highlights of my day:

- Was only half watching the intro and genuinely thought Spargo was the mascot running out with the side... Until he grabbed a footy and took a bounce! Actually laughed out loud

- Had my twin 2 year old girls at home with me today watching the game, the smiles on their faces as we danced around when the song was playing made my heart melt. Fingers crossed the don't have to suffer through the drought that their old man has!

No I watched it on T.V, so yeah if there was a deliberate defensive role for some of the players then I will miss that.

You get more appreciation how hard he runs at the ground. He is a hard runner and clever footballer.

Dees win by 96, into the top 4, Oliver looks like he'll be the best player I've ever seen play for the Dees, won a free Google Home Mini (still not 100% sure what that is but it's free) and a free pie.

Honestly I've had worse days at the footy over the past decade.
Free pie! Awesome!!!

Gonna judge them next week I think, really hoping that was a professional outfit conserving energy for a valuable game.

Otherwise it was a shocking day. Worst 96 point win ever and I didn't get a free pie.

Also what has happened to omac? He has been awful the last few weeks after an amazing first half, I really don't understand. We need him back to his best next week or Franklin will kill us

Frosty will take Bud. OMac has better be rebounding off McCartin

Ugly: Gold Coast. Should never have been given a license, can never see them being good.
It's funny because when they came in there was a lot of uproar about the talent pool being drained out but the other 16 clubs have managed and have found some decent players from state leagues. Also the amount of talent that has come out has evened things out anyway.

50 game 22 year old developing KPF, he will have ups and downs like any other player on our list. I wouldn't say he was awful last week against the crows.

I completely understand, it's just frustrating when he was so good at the start of the year. He is a key pillar for us if we want to play finals and I'm really worried him getting toweled up the next few weeks will kill our chances

He has been a bit more inconsistent over the past six to eight weeks. He's also lost Lever who was really gelling with the backline and now Hibberd for a few weeks. His task has gotten harder but I like his development and love his improved disposal. Not as nervous when he has it in his hands now.

GOOD
Played a game that we were expected to win and needed to win.... and we won!

It's been a long long time but I think we've almost done enough to call ourselves a football club again.

I'll still refrain for the time being though.

Bad: JKH's hospital kick across half forward in the 2nd quarter that almost got his captain killed. I honestly feared for Nath's life while that ball hung in the air and he had two GC players barring down on him at full pelt from both directions.

I see your little game JKH, the more people you send to the sidelines with injury the more senior games you get. Is that it?

Get your ****ing shit together man!@

That kick from JKH was embarrassing and showed his major deficiency at AFL level. Sold Jones under pressure with a helicopter kick because he heard footsteps behind him. Jonesy was absolutely sandwiched. Would like us to recruit aggressively for a link up mid next year.

OMac lacks urgency for mine. Not soft, just lackadaisical. It shits me!

Also what has happened to TMac the deadeye? He was always going to fall back eventually but I wouldn't have him kicking for my life. Hogan at the moment.

Oliver was just taking the piss in that first quarter like an 18 year old playing in the under 10s.

Haven't seen us that switched on and sharp from the opening bounce like that in a while.

Bring the same intensity next week please.
This.

I was completely blown away watching at home. after the first 4 minutes i just sat flabbergasted, but for once in a positive way.

I also wanted to note the good calling by Jason Bennett. Clarry having his second shot on goal running in, doesn't say anything. Even with the ball crossing the goal line, just lets it go. Excellent commentary
