I wanna kick these ****s into the ground for once. I don't care about being nice were due to destroy a football team.

That said when the games over I generally hope they get their stuff sorted out and get back to being a good football club.

Crikey! Melbourne are so very poor! If i was a melbourne member/supporter/fan I would be absolute angry, very angry right now

I was in the cheer squad today and they were. That cardboard cutout of Watts they have looked like it had a hitler mustache on it by the end of the match. They looked unfit and disinterested, non of them were resenting when they tried to get the ball out of defense and kept turning it over as a result. And when some dees fans started to chant a bunch of others shouted at them to stfu.

Not saying anything anymore. All I'll say is that we can expect to play a better side than Port did, because I don't see how much worse you can get than that.

Why do we ALWAYS get Melbourne the week after they cop a flogging? They'll get smashed in the media, like they have the past 3 years and more than likely come out firing next week. Will be extremely frustrated if we manage to somehow get complacent for the 4th game in a row against them...

I have a solution: request them for r1 and r1 only next year

To be fair, we cop a lot of floggings so the odds are against you if you expect us to be coming off a win.

We won't beat you. If you lose it will be your own doing, you are so far ahead of us previous results won't matter.

Last season you had several injuries and were coming off a massive first half of the season. I've also never seen a team fumble as much as you guys did, it was just one of those nights.

I say the following with 100% seriousness: I'm REALLY worried now

"Grimes and Watts admit Demons deserved to be booed

WHAT hurt most was knowing they deserved to be booed.

Melbourne captain Jack Grimes and defender Jack Watts said Demons fans had every right to turn on the team after Sunday's round one shocker against Port Adelaide at the MCG.

After a competitive first half, Melbourne fell apart and could only manage one behind in the third term.

The fans let them have it at three-quarter time and after the final siren.

"It feels shocking - but they've got every right the way we played today," Watts said of the fans' reaction.

"You'd hope your supporters would really stick by you and support you through no matter what. But jeez ... with what they've been through, I certainly don't blame them.

"We're going to have to do something to change."

Similarly, Grimes said it was a bleak feeling at the end of the match.

"Walking off the ground, when you hear some of the stuff they're saying, you think, 'fair enough'," he said.

Watts said it was "right up there" as one of the worst games in his time at Melbourne.

He had a particularly bad day and had no answers for his poor form.

"They really did a number on me and it hasn't happened often in my career," he said.

"I'm going to have sort that out so it doesn't happen again, because today was a shocking effort."

Grimes said it was now critical that the team stuck together and rallied quickly ahead of next Saturday's match against Essendon."

all we need to do is roll up next weekend and its ours. get my gist? :(

you know, I'd like to believe you. but previous results matter. we haul it in, in a 30 foot rucksack over our shoulders every time.

I'm not worried. If ever man-jack of the Melbourne players (no pun intended) fire up and play to the best of their collective abilities, we should still in all seriousness beat them. What I want to see is application analogous to that of our Rd 1 performance, not application relative to how well the opposition is playing. In essence, do precisely what Port Adelaide did.

Actually feeling confident in this one. The next week I am not so sure.

Tip: Essendon by 48
