Rough day for Hawks. Already a firm betting favourite to be a bottom 4 team in 2024, and they've just lost their full back for the season to an ACL.

They are pretty hard. We've been through a few. Seen the ups and downs of it all. Been blessed as a Hawthorn supporter to see the fruits of our labour many a time.

Been pretty enjoyable under Sam so far. Hopefully he takes us all the way.

Consistently bottom 4? Hawthorn has only had the two bottom 4 ladder positions since 2006.

He starts off being all cagey about what Hawthorn are building, saying only that they have completed the foundations and it won't have a ceiling. Then, when pushed, he reveals they are building a road (which explains the lack of ceiling) and that there are a few bumps in it. Now clearly if there are bumps in the road they have stuffed up the foundations and should start again. Apparently 'it was a bit rockier than we thought'. Then he ends by appearing to blame the stuff up on apprentice labour and people taking sickies. Concerning stuff.
