How was he not employable? If you think Buckley was not employable (with a W-L record of 54%) then I’ve got no idea what Nicks is going to be. Is there even a level below not employable? With a W-L % below 35, the worst in the AFL, he ain’t getting another senior role at an AFL club.

So Nathan Buckley with coaching experience, who almost won a flag, who has then taken time out to observe other clubs and gameplans wouldn’t be of interest to any clubs.

Instead it’s 2 blokes with zero coaching experience you reckon would make great coaches. For what’s it worth I’d definitely have Hodge over Nicks even with no experience.
