Autopsy Positives and Negatives vs Norf

Jack Darling and Masten appear to be finding form.

Any theories on what Masten is doing differently? Darling I always expected to find form eventually because I felt like his intent was never gone. Masten I thought was done and dusted, but when Hutchings went out he has played better football.

Is it simply others having more faith in using him in a chain of possession?

*(Eagle Ego-Waterman is an asthmatic, so is Cripps)
Didn't know what result to expect from this game, but great to see the real Eagles turn up!
It all came together for 4 qtrs mostly, and they did what was required at this stage of season.
I criticised Gaff earlier today and he made me eat my words - they tasted okay with chilli sauce?
JD in beast mode again! JK a Zen goalmaster and true gent! (ah, those JK critics!!?)
Leaked some easy goals at the end, frustrating, need that %. But tired legs off a 6 day break.
A few easy marks by opp in their forward, was surprised, given our defenders, Hurn makes the difference and the balance right. Franky had a learning curve today, that's ok.
Yep, Cameron was quiet. Might've had some heat on him.
Can't believe where Lions are at? Are they that good, are they finals pretenders?
We looking good at the right time..Hurn, Hutch, Cripps and Duggan back,
maybe NN, no more injuries please.
If anti-asthmatic drug does not make Waterman breathing normal during the game, he should not be playing! He looked worse than an asthmatic sufferer.

+ Willie Rioli - GOTY (will go well with Flyin's MOTY from the Melbourne game earlier in the season!!)
+ JK over coming illness and injury - 600!!!
+ Nelson - rivalling Hutch as a good tagger
+ Sheed - keeps racking up the possies
+ Hickey - held his own again

- Cameron (typically inconsistency as any youngster would be)
- Waterman - shines in the WAFL but plays a different role in the AFL, was lost at times today
- we didn't win by 80 points ;)

Positives:
The Willi Tricks
Kennedy best forward of the last twenty years and don’t you forget it
JD the other half of the twin towers
Equal first on the ladder tonight despite the doubters
The Sheed machine just keeps on keeping on
Are Jetta and Hurn the two best kicks in the AFL
Barrass sticks it up his critics
Midfield underrated. You can’t stop them all
Duggan Cripps Hurn Hutch And maybe The Nic Nat to still come in
Nelson wiped out Ziebel tonight and is going to be hard to dislodge

Negatives:
Hawks kicked badly and didn’t win
Nic Nat looked sad in the box
Absolutely nothing else

Defense leaked too many points. Shud have kept them under 50.
Thought they were good but still adapting to opposition lowering the eyes when going i50 against us. There's been a bit of player shuffling down there and they'll be better for the games with Hurn coming back in.

I've got no specifics to mention that haven't already been well covered.
Positive: What a day to be an Eagles fan. We were blessed with a ton of great moments today. Some teams don't produce that in a whole season.
Great win, with a heap of contributors, and several doses of magic.
:blueheart::yellowheart:

Cripps is diabetic, not Asthmatic. (Unless he's both????)
Ok, my bad, thought it was asthma. But Jake is often quite pale in the face after mucho running and sucking in the big ones. He went well today, has his critics.
* How big is the Richmond game shaping up at MCG!?

Haven’t watched the game yet but just a couple of things :

• We’ve now qualified for finals which will be the 5th year in a row. Unless Sydney do a miracle Lazarus no other side has played finals in each of the last 5 years
• In this weeks podcast HoneyBadger35 discussed our propensity to give up clumps of goals in games this season which has been a concern. Despite north kicking 10 goals today at no stage did they register consecutive majors - we prevented them getting any significant momentum

He's back to playing pure wing. It suits him.

A few + little things:

  • Oscars positioning/holding his player out allowed JK a couple of goals. This kid is having to play 2nd ruck, fwd & general spare parts man in his 2nd yr. Not sure too many other 20 yr old 6’4 players could do this as well!
  • Spirit - OA takes a diving mark, a ball that would have hit Petch on the chest giving him an easy shot. Petch, no disappointment, smiles & helps the OA up.
A few + big things:

  • Hickey.
  • 600 plus for JK!
Plus Nelson proving he is afl standard.

Lots of positives:

JK kicking a bag and rag dolling Robbie "never lost a 1 on 1" Tarrant
JD not with huge scoreboard impact but had impact everywhere else.
Some of those audaciius kicks by our aboriginal crew are something else. Jetta, Rioli and Ryan all do it on the reg
Hickey played well again, especially considering he was mean to partner Vardy until NN was ready. Also just looked, we had 6 guys with hit outs today.
TB. Fisting like he was on pornhub
Masten playing some good footy since his return (I will admit I was one calling for his head but he has responded)
Second place. Let's get that home QF v Brissy.

Some negatives:
Open to fast counter attacking footy still
Also they too many guys taking uncontested grabs inside 50 considering her have TB, Gov, Schoey and Shep there.
Cameron was quiet and I am not sure there is a spot for Waterman despite kicking two.
