Nah not Cameron…. His been carrying a shoulder injury apparently for a few months now and will be getting offseason surgery as soon as we are eliminated. Hawkins is also ruled out with a hammy.
Hawkins' record against us is so good he might still manage to kick three from the stands.

Not having a go at you specifically but I always laugh at the idea that (insert absolute A grade star player here) has a great record against us specifically rather than just being a great player who rips everyone to shreds.

In fact, Hawkins has only kicked 42 goals in 20 games against Port at 2.1 goals per game (compared to a career average of 2.5 goals per game). There are only 4 teams he has averaged less than 2 goals per game against.

As others have suggested
Rest Dixon & play Lord (send him over a day early to conduct a Shultz kicking class) - I suspect we are trading Lord to Geelong at the end of the season for Ratugolea, probably with a pick..
Look at playing Finlayson as a CHB - looking for flexibility should last weekend repeat in future.
And just for the melts pick Scully as FF/CHF - let’s see what the future could look like.

The way Schultz spoke about the club in re to concussions today I doubt he comes near the place

Think the team will lift this week we should win by 20 30 points
Even if we do pluck a win from our backsides, against a team that'll prey on the forward line deficiencies we've had the last few weeks, we aint winning easy. We're only winning in a close grind at best. It's just our way. Could be 4 goals up with 10 mins to play and we'd let them get a quick 3 to take it to the wire.

In my personal opinion we'll get what we deserve from the way we've gone about things lately and lose by 2-3 goals.

Mead's last 2 games look like that of a kid who has been told he'll be delisted if he doesn't lift. Which is good. However it's also as an inside mid. A position he'll never fill in our senior squad and any time he's played any other role he has failed.
Don't disagree with your post, I'm purely commenting on form. If Hinkley is true to his word, he should reward players playing well in the 2's. He is playing well from what i have seen.

When has Hinkley ever said 'I will keep playing the same spuds who fail at AFL level time and time again if they can rack up a few disposals in the twos?'

AFL form is so much more important than SANFL form. Mead has been given ample chances at AFL level and shown nothing in any of them. He should never play for the Power again.

Listen to his press conference for a start.

Yep that makes sense, keep playing blokes in the AFL side that are under performing. Please!

You are aware that avoiding playing blokes who continually underperform in the AFL side is exactly why we shouldn't pick Mead, right?

Mead at half forward just doesn't cut it. And he's too far down in the pecking order to be getting AFL mid minutes.

Narkle, Burgoyne and Bonner playing on the outside might be slightly better than Boak and Wines being there.

Bonner on the wing is something we must do. Our ball use has really dropped off last few weeks. Duursma on a wing is a disaster. He shows all the running power and desire, gets to the right places, but just constantly burns the ball. What was so important in our run of wins was our lack of completely unforced turnovers, which has crept back into our side. Teams then kill us on the counter attack, as our defence is a liability when it comes in quick.

Duursma, Boak, Wines and Bergman are our biggest culprit of this. Bergman and Duursma especially. Their ball use is diabolical.

Having to swing the forced changes will bring some fresh dynamics to the side.
We were getting stale with the same approach week after week. It may rejuvenate the side a bit???
Having said that this club has truly been exposed for what it is by the likes of Carlton and the Cows.
I think if Scott has done his homework all they will need to do is bring the pressure and i can see us turning into losers.

Yet you write garbage about players you haven't watched. Comical dribble again from you. :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:
I just write on what I see on the AFL games.

Bonner has looked like trash on the wing. He is supposedly a great kick but it is not as big as a weapon as it should be. Doesn't like to get his guernsey dirty. Won't go in for the hard ball when it is his turn. Barely tackles. Doesn't work nearly hard enough for mine goal square to goal square. A timid player bordering on Lonie. I think he is quite tall for a winger like 6 foot 2 or 3 and doesn't seem to have any real marking power either.

But he might be awesome in the SANFL and if so, he can stay there.

My gut has been right all year.

Gut says we lose this by 5-6 goals. Losses are too difficult to overcome. Geelong looking at a backs against the wall, season back on track, win for the ages, Gary Rohan to kick 6 and be one of the players of the round.
