Who are our defenders besides Jonas playing in the SANFL? They can't be worse than Jonas..
Be hard for the selectors to leave Jonas out. He was in the best players at the weekend; albeit, the ball was mainly in our backline. Sinn can not be considers as he was injured late and the Magpies have a bye next week.

With no Hawkins they may consider Jake Pasini instead of Jonas, where a wild card could be Brin Teakle.
Oh, well; the injuries should save a brace of other players being dopped.

We are still a chance with their two big outs and our young mids having the flu last week.
I will hang my hat of the defeat to the Crows at the start of the season precipitated the changes that kick started our run of 13 wins.

OutIN
AliirJonas/Pasini
JonesNarkle/Bonner: DBJ moved to the back line.
McEnteeRioli
DanteLycett
Who ??Teakle/Lord

Almost panic stations, inclined to put everyone even slightly banged up into rest mode , test what little depth we have and if necessary concede games. Just need to win enough games to stay in top 4 , not sure how many more wins we need 1 or 2 to secure top 4. Think top 2 is unrealistic now.

Bergman out as well I would expect, need coverage for him as well.

If we’re smart we’d rest everyone who is banged up this week given the outs already. We’re not finishing top 2, time to get as close to fit as possible.

Out:
Aliir (conc), Jones (conc), Dixon (managed), Bergman (managed), Butters (managed), JHF (managed), McKenzie (managed)

In: Jonas, Pasini, Lord, Bonner, Rioli, Narkle, Dumont

Yeah we aren’t dropping Marshall. His showdown was horrendous, but his year has been ok (albeit not spectacular). But he’s certainly a best 22 player.

The fact that you have been looking forward to him failing rather than enjoying his development is pretty sad tbh

Say whatever you like but I stand by my desire to see Marshall replaced by Lord this week as I did last week. If it’s good enough for Burton it’s good enough for Soft Todd.

We're going to get obliterated.
What a heck of a year where we have exceeded all expectations, just enjoy the good and the bad.
If someone said at the start (of the year) we would be fighting for top four or indeed top two in August, I would gladly have taken it.

It is a terrific challenge to highlight who can and cannot stand up in adverse times.
Where players like Frank-the-Tank are invested, playing for a contract to stay on our list next year.

PS: Saturday’s forecast is for 13 degrees with a 70% chance of rain.

If we play a sore Dixon I don't see any chance of winning, especially if both Marshall / Finlayson stay in the side.

Surely you must be on crack.
If you don't win by at least 90 points I will be very surprised

We look mentally and physically shot, and have for some time.

Doesn't really bother me too much after a premiership. Footy's just a game after all...but if you have a wide angle view of our recent games, the legs just aren't there...particularly late in matches. The lack of of a serious pre-season is becoming increasingly apparent.

Plus Blitz & Hawk out, who are undoubtedly our two most important players. I've been one of our more positive posters all year, feeling like we'll just 'click' eventually...but it hasn't happened, and like most Cats supporters my eyes are firmly on the trade/draft period and 2024.

If we were to win, it'll be a gutsy, ugly slot fest. Expecting an eye-sore either way.

Genuinely wishing you all the best, it's unpopular in footy...but Port are my second team if I was to pick one!

Good luck this week guys, you're a massive sniff this week.

Said it before, but now that we look to be out of the running hopefully 2023 is the year of a Port Adelaide premiership!

All the best, KG
You're paying $1.54 atm which is probably a fair reflection of the current situation vis-a-vis our likely team and the fact we are 2-13 at Kardinia, and haven't won there since 2007.

I'd imagine too that the current scrutiny on our Club re injury management might see further outs. It'll take a big game by our midfield to take this one out.

We are 0-3 for the last 3 with a tired, sore and injured playing group. We also now have the concussion fiasco going on in the background. The wheels are falling off our club in front of us. I bloody hope we turn this around but we have too many players down on form, fitness and now confidence.

I wouldn’t replace Allir With a defender.

their forward line is pretty short. Play bergman on Cameron, McKenzie on Henry The rest can play on the smalls, with burton taking Stengel.

stretch them at the other end, and smash them in the middle.

Not as strident as you, but will be unsurprised if it happens.
Be prepared for a "managed" adjudication.

We will likely play all of Cameron (196cm), J Henry (194cm) O Henry (189cm) and Rohan (188cm) forward this week, with Stengle and Close the smalls as per usual.
