Nah, Burgess is easy delistable as not AFL standard.

Would prefer to get games into T Murray or swing his brother or Worrell forward if we have most of our forwards unavailable.

As it is we have Thilthorpe, Fogarty, Walker & Curtin.

What we'd rather see isn't the same as what our footy strategy committee choose to rely upon.

Keane Worrell Murray Murray Walker Thilthorpe Fogarty Butts. Plenty key position depth
He can pinch hit in the ruck. Don't forget a few seasons ago we had to get a young ruck of the street midway through the season to have a ruck in the SANFL team. That is a POD to some of the above.

I guess the word is "depth".

Murray, Worrell and Keane start in defense, Thilthorpe, Walker and Fogarty start in the forward line and Curtin starts as a swingman.

That leaves Butts and Toby Murray?

It was a good off season, but we need to start looking at our talls again.

Hopefully Rash spends another pre season training with the mids again and makes that move. I’d like to see something like

Worrell Murray Max
Pick 4 Keane Hinge
Cumming Soligo Dawson
Rob Rash Rankine
Keays Thil ANB
Pedlar Fog Tex

Curtin Crouch Peatling Laird

Also hope Milera can get back up - I think Daws called him the underrated one to watch last season before injury

Taylor and Dowling shouldnt miss the senior side in R1, nor Bond IMO.

Hard to fit them all in I know.
They have been on the list a number of years now (especially Taylor) and none were particularly high draft picks. Those are the sort of players who should be made to earn their place in the side. If we are going to be gifting games, I would rather it be to pick 4, Curtin, Ryan and Edwards.

Taylor has had his injury concerns and Dowling bashed the door down to get in.

Bond is an interesting one, he probably doesnt have the game to be a long termer but he hardly put a foot wrong.

Ryan and Edwards do deserve games though.

Dowling did. That's what all three of them need to do now, and then play well enough to hold their spot in the side. I don't see the point of gifting games to them if we have better performing players and more highly talented kids in the SANFL. Let's hope they can force their way in and provide some genuine depth.

That is very generous to Bond. I like Bond but in his handful of games, his opponent was best on ground at least twice.

B: Michaelanny, Murray, Worrell
HB: Milera , Keane, Hinge
C: Dawson, Soligo, Cumming
HF: Rachele, Fogarty, ANB
F: Walker, Thilthorpe, Keays
R: O’Brien, Crouch, Rankine
I: Peatling, Curtin, Pick 4, Nankervis
Sub: Sholl

We suddenly have depth:
Really unlucky not to be in the 22 cos they're decent:
Berry
Dowling
Bond
Taylor
Butts

Still bullish these guys pull out the finger and shine:
Jones
Cook
Pedlar
Laird (yes he still can)

These guys need games:
Ryan
Edwards

Everyone else is depth.

Crazy that we now have 12 or so players out of the 22 that I'm happy to see in it.
We are still missing the real top end - AA level players. Need to evolve some guys into that. Still missing another ruck. Is Turray going to be a ruck?
Best side I've seen so far.

I'd say Hugh Bond is more a smallish defender, and Lachlan Murphy is a garden gnome, not a mid-sized forward.

Worrell Murray Laird
Max Keane Hinge
Cumming Dawson Sholl
Keays Fog ANB
Rach TT Tex

ROB Soligo Rankine

Crouch, Peatling, Nank, Curtin
Sub Dowling

Close
Bond, Taylor, Pick 4, Pedlar (if good preseason), Milera if fit.

Laird I would have as sub to get 20 touches in a qtr when he comes on but Nicks will play him so he replaces Bond.

Butts is very unlucky, butt it’s him or Keane
