That was amazing. Newman got his timing spot on.
It was brilliant but entirely unecessary.

As Breust (I think) was lining up, 10 year old Kramer Jr asked why we didn't gave a tall back in the square. It's a simple game.

If you're reading this Teaguey he's available after school for Zoom consults.

There were reports of Stocker having too much FIGJAM week one he was at the club, he is clearly disliked by Teague who makes him wait longer than anyone for a chance.

I absolutely love the way he goes about it on the field and believe his kicking will be a real feature once he gets more confidence.

I played with one fu**head who everyone disliked, but he was a gun so you had to deal with it, he tried to fit in, by sometimes the narcissism runs so deep just when you think they have turned a corner they fall right back in to being a w***er.

If all that is true, and we dont know if it is, I dont think it matters. We have a lot of high draft picks that are a bit too comfy and it might spur them on.

Eg, Walsh is with his mates Setterfield and Dow at the skinny dog,

Walsh- "can you ******* believe Stocker in that team meeting? No awareness to ask that sort of question, Teaguey was dumbfounded. I can't believe he is picking him in the seniors over you guys"

Only gunna motivate Dow to beat the door down in the twos and Setterfield to ******* switch on a bit in the seniors.
I don’t know how you come up with this. What did he play, two VFL games this year? and that’s on the back of taking last season off. He was handy then had one great game and was in the side.
Teague makes all the young players earn it, long overdue imo.

Still a fair bit to work on, but what was pleasing for me was a mindset change to try and retain the ball more, evident by having nearly 40 more marks

We seemed slightly more in control when chipping it around between the arcs and more switching/chipping trying to transition

Most times Hawks flooded their back half, but we need to be patient with entries when it's that congested
Hawks are absolutely shit. And Clarko knows it so he stacks the backline. Makes for ugly watching. It’s why they’ve only been pumped twice in 10 games - his game style mostly prevents being pumped and.....winning.

Not that anyone’s been knocking d

Gibbons is hilarious
You're utterly tedious.
Cue "Well they're not playing how I want them to! Mummy said I'm allowed to have an opinion if I finish my veggies!"

At the basics... football is a game of wins and losses. Clarkson had Hodge, Mitchell, Lewis, Buddy and Roughead and a number of other top players who were all very young. Still only won 10 games in 37. Dimma, came in after the list mangler and rebuilt the list. 11/37. Richmond replaced all his assistant coaches with good ones and 3 premierships in 4 years. I don't think that they would even consider replacing him any time soon... BUT, both Clarkson and Dimma were under fire after poor starts to their coaching careers, now they are pretty much untouchable.

We're almost 5.5 years into our rebuild after SOS started the list rebuild.

So, you're making a case that Teague doesn't deserve to be under fire as much as he has been?

Hey, I agree with that... I've even said so myself.

But that stat doesn't help the cause... because there's no substance to it. It's cherry picking at it's finest.

Well his mum and dad, 20 yrs and 9 mnths ago approx went to bed and didnt go to sleep as soon as the light went off

Ugly win, but who cares. Came over from Adelaide to watch this. My 12 year old son’s first live win. He was 0-14-1 before today. Only the 2011 draw against Essendon were his only live points before today. Go Blues!!
Awesome mate we all remember our first win . Bet he was stoked . 👍

I can’t see David Teague disliking anyone. He doesn’t seem the type to dislike one of his own players.
Exactly the way teague and club handled the hub thing was good be honest I have no idea what it was . They had option to move him to hawthorn but wanted him to stay - when teague first took over he was injured- 2020 hub no VFL he went home - 2021 VFL start late he plays two games comes into senior side - if he had of played him half back back pocket in front of willo there would of been melts -- I don't get where people draw the line teague dislikes the guy -- I think he really likes him and knows what he got so he expects more - you can see him smile everytime he talks about how hard he goes ..

Why do you consider doing the only thing that might reduce his game? The only possible limit on him might be making him captain. Why would you do it?
Firstly, I don’t think co-captains works, and I believe it has the potential to cause confusion if one Captain gives one set of instruction, and the other, another. Conversely each may think the other has it covered and no instruction is given.

Secondly, Because of his leadership qualities. He has a wise head - far beyond his years, he inspires and he is so professional the way he deals with everything, I’m positive that he has the exact type of character that can shoulder the responsibility and not let the pressure affect his game.

The ease with which he speaks to the media without ums, errs, and retoric, the preparation the others say he puts into his game, the way he dealt with being the no.1 pick, his Footy smarts and how he’s played in his first and subsequent years... Also, he has the right balance between knowing when to lift and take control, and when to give the ball off and trust his teammates. Unlike Cripps, he doesn’t try and do it all himself.

These are rare qualities in someone so young, and you have to take a punt.
Crippa & Doc (more so Crippa’s) game have suffered as per your concern, and Walsh may free them up to play their own games.

Some personalities thrive on leadership (Joel Selwood springs to mind, although he has a very different type of character), and I don’t think there is anyone else other than Weitering that could do the job.

I may be totally wrong, but that kid has a special blend of ability and mental strength that I don’t think anyone else in the team has.

Once in a generation type player.

Just watching the mini match on fox as I have been out all Saturday.

It looked like there was a fair amount of heat in the game. I think it was a good test for our boys to see if they could stand up when challenged

Hawks threw everything at them and we were just as desperate. Good warm up for the swans game as it will be a similar imo

Few whipping boys in the highlights doing well (murph and Gibbo)

Setters seems to be playing more inside and who knew Williams was a half back

Up the magnificent baggers

McKay's sore arm is a worry. Obviously hindered his work yesterday. Very commendable effort. And that goal!

Certainly hindered but got burnt so many times in the first qtr it wasn't funny and I suspect that impacted his work rate too (which is entirely understandable).

IF we can tidy up our forward entries he will kick 80+ goals. He is an absolute beast.
