what he sayWhat Hardwick said about shai was bullshit and harsh. Shai always lays big tackles and is one of few to provide a Shepard for the team. I’d say his defensive game is right up there.
Ok lets send a note to dimma , RJK wantsTo be clear - YES i would rather finish 9-12th playing 10+ U22 year olds over finishing 7th with 12+ over 29 year olds, because the U22 year olds develop far far faster. This has literally been "rebuilding" 101 since forever.

Agree, no doubt it’s a balancing act especially with ageing stars and kids who are right on the cusp but the reality is that we should ALWAYS pick our best 22Ok lets sent a note to dimma , RJK wants
Grimes , Pickett , Martin , Riewoldt , Prestia , Cotchin , Edwards , Lynch , Lambert , Broad all dropped this week so we can play a team full of kids and become the next Norf/Collingwood so we can finish 12th rather than 7th just so our 1st pick is pick #7 instead of pick #12th
What a stupid Stupid post FMD
thats how you become a loser team and destroy culture & confidence
Exactly right .Agree, no doubt it’s a balancing act especially with ageing stars and kids who are right on the cusp but the reality is that we should ALWAYS pick our best 22
Cotchin along with Meatball are still our best inside midfielders, Lambo still better than any kid who might come in,
You could look at potentially Castagna but it isn’t as simple as just dropping him for a midfielder either
If we bring in a Sonz or Dow you want them in the midfield otherwise what’s the point of brining them in and playing them out of position when they are better off playing VFL in the proper role and continuing to develop
One of the biggest problems we have with Ross is that we played him a lot on the wing and half back flank because we just wanted to get games into him and it’s actually made him go backwards imo
How ****ed are EssendonShocking jumper clash this week. Surely the Bombers will have to wear their clash strip and not the indigenous jumper. (pic from SEN article) View attachment 1401736
Leave them alone will youHow f’ed are Essendon
They can’t even make a clash strip
We always make the effort when it’s our away game to ensure we don’t clash for this game
What because he’s never wrong?Appreciate your opinion but I think I'll pick:
a) premiership coach's opinion.
Just bullshit about his defensive game.what he say

He also wont answer my question about his silly claim that Richmond tanked to get Cotchin & MartinThis!
RJK won’t answer the simple question from Saturday’s game… from the starting 22 on Saturday:
Outs =
Ins =
You can’t constantly talk about ‘play the kids’, but then not provide any recommended changes.

so true,I think we need to understand when we talk about drop Castagna (a move I’d be ok with) or drop Edwards or retire off Cotchin and Jack etc…. is that these players gave everything they had and more to the team at the expense of their own personal glory to help gain team success.
Richmond’s list was comparable to many other teams from 2017-2020, but we have 3 flags to show because of the sacrifice these senior players made to benefit the team. Castagna playing a completely selfless role to chase Dusty’s man around the forward line… Lambert the same.
So when Dimma has the choice to play a kid or stick fat with senior players a little longer than we’d like, he’s going to choose the senior player who he knows has gone above and beyond to help achieve Premiership glory.
I’m ok with this as this is what our winning ‘team first’ culture is built on - if that means Edwards gets the nod over a Stack (who is not ultra fit and has yet to really sacrifice everything for the club) then I think we should support that mindset.
Say what you like but at least you know Castagna is giving his absolute 100% best, on and off the field… and when Dimma says ‘jump’ George says ‘how high?’. Dimma says “Chase Dusty and Shai’s man and George says “How far?” Can you say the same for Stack … I’m not confident you can.

100% we wont win the free kick count, throw a few 50s against us in there as wellWell then! Bombers WILL be over the top fired up on Saturday night.
If we don’t win the first quarter free kick count then I’ll start to believe there actually is a conspiracy
True later in the season for 'some', probably even myself by r18 if you are a few games out of the 8.
BUT at this point of the season, poor!!!
Regardless of whether the odds are small, the team mentality and message from the board down to the bootstudder is 'We are playing to win the GF'. Every minute of every game.
Now, this 'tanking' and 'rebuilding by playing the younger players' happens every year, and will again in Aug here dominate discussion (with Tom Green trade scenarios!!). But is disrespectful and sets up poor culture through the team to start dropping senior players as you mentioned if they are still performing at the same level as the younger players. It is wrong on so many levels.
As for you feeling many here seem to be taking the opposite view to you frequently, perhaps you might consider why Trump gets some people also lining up his opposite side. Have you ever lost an argument?
I'd agree with most of that. It's a fine line and teams will always take this approach ONCE finals are out of the question. And your language there was slightly different with the younger players fitting in at times getting opportunity and experience. I'd agree with that, as long as it's fairly balanced, and but when finals are still a possibility, that's where I differ. If you get knocked out in the first final, so be it. What about the experience and development a young player will get just by playing in one final. Every footballer want to play in a final rather than be done at r23. Not to mention the club also. Fk the higher pick. The message at some point has to shift to enabling the kids to do that for you, its also a poor culture when you don't pass they keys onto a different generation . I woudn't say i want them to tank - but try their best with a younger bunch of players having longer stints at important roles, giving blokes like RCD, Sonsie, Dow time in the middle to develop and grow Vs trying to re-purpose a new role for them like we did with Ross and just fu** 'em up.
Poaching & re-signing 33 year olds will only take you so far, for so long & if that "so far" is not even close to being "far enough", then what was the point?
Not a fan of tanking and would never really encourage it beyon round 15-6 too if the results suggest it - but playing your kids and trying your best will generally lead to plesantly surprising success ....or better draft picks. Both those results are better than an old team finishing 7th, to me anyway
But we will still win the game and easily.100% we wont win the free kick count, throw a few 50s against us in there as well
It will be Reamtime at the 'G for us.100% we wont win the free kick count, throw a few 50s against us in there as well
