The best part about yesterday was I only broke stuff around the house that needed throwing out anyway. Really need a good spring clean when the weather warms up, and obviously a new TV.

Checked the paper this morning and by some miracle of modern fixturing we are still in the 8. At least we're not as bad as Norf Essington.

NO ONE PANIC ****EN!

This is the problem the club has. There was/will still be a belief we can still be good so we will make short term decisions accordingly for the rest of the year and maybe in the trade period

Big problem... grasping at th hope of another flag. Clearly our best is good enough to beat anybody this year, unfortunately our mental demons(giving up big leads and not winning close games) have cost us th chance to get to another gf.
If we don’t make some serious changes in th off season, we risk being where hawthorn are atm.. they kept clarko for far too long, chasing that hope.
Just my opinion

Didn’t see the twos but judging by the stats and feedback Parker deserves a game, surely would give more than Edwards and McIntosh at the moment? At the very least much better sub option than George and Aarts.

At least he has a crack surely we find a place for him.

Compare our premiership players current form/level to 2 years ago
Vlastuin/Grimes - worse
Nank/Cotch/Prestia/Dusty/Edwards/- worse
Riewoldt/Graham/McIntosh-worse
Lambert- injured/worse
Balta/Lynch-worse and often injured anyway
Castagna- enough said
Broad/Pickett/Short -same
Rioli-better
Baker - better but often played out of position

I reckon at least 12 not as good any more and only one/two better. That’s where we are at.

Media had a stat up that they had a worse % than Fitzroy and won less games
I saw that Fitzroy side play at least three times that year and they were considerably worse. This North side does have some genuinely talented young players, which is more than what I remember of that last Fitzroy team. Most of their talent has jumped ship by then and there wasn't much left for that '96 season. North has more promising young players than Fitzroy did then. They've both got a lot of plodders in the mid to late 20s age group, which is where you want most of your list. That Fitzroy side was full of players who were either over the hill or simply not that good. Plus, there was bound to be an atmosphere of impended doom as the club was about to go under, so it wouldn't have been difficult to lose the will to not just win, but compete. They had maybe a handful of players who had any sort of career afterwards.

The Tigers missed the 8 in '96 but still beat Fitzroy convincingly twice. By 92 and 151 points.

Out :
Nankervis ( W.O.G. , disgraceful ) , Aarts , gibcus , Edwards sub this week farewell
The following his 300th

In :
Ryan , RCD , Banks

Ryan to play Soldo role , Balta ( Nanks role ) play Graham , RCD more upon the inside FFS sick of seeing oppo blokes step through clearances and our midget blokes blocked out .
Bolton forward , Prestia , Cotchin , Baker and Short to play midfield .
Ryan didn’t play VFL yesterday…don’t know why…he wasn’t our sub yesterday ( unfortunately)

Nyoun played ruck and did a great job

Think they held him just in case Nank didn’t get up
Seems that knee is giving him trouble noticed he hardly jumped at all yesterday

Geez just watched the Aarts play on bit again fmd
He didn’t see no8 or thought he had the wheels which he doesn’t have , prob only shai could slip thru . Anyways I’m not blaming him the calamity of fk ups from point blank is next level , where do u start

Worst part is that Castagna playing on in a similar situation last week ultimately cost the game the same way, same mistake made by two different players
Take the ducking set shot.

Don’t blame aarts ,, ffs jack kicked 6p Balta missed from sq , Nank and baker from 10m out ,,,,all absolute Sodas

Could have should have not good enough for me , if your not good enough to beat a spoon side who's getting pumped by 10 goals a game and loss 14 in a row no excuses for it. We have seen the same mistakes and habits all year and we got key players back yesterday.

Your right about composure and the kill mentality the question is why with so much experience heads and premiership players it's happening.
We're clearly not good enough. I'm not saying we are. I'm more saying there isn't a whole lot of change required to be good enough. This is more thinking of next year.

Like we have 4 losses under a goal. And another 2 losses were we are 5+ goals up in the 4th quarter and choked. We're sitting 9-8. It really would take not a whole lot for that to actually be 15-2

So while this year looks cooked, next year is still promising. I'm not doom and glooming. We have had such inconsistency over the last 2 years with our lineups, we're constantly losing players which is hard when our gameplay relies on strong bonds and players fulling locked in with each other to break those games open and be where their teammate needs them to be.

Like its easy to blame individual players, but if we can't play off pure instinct that's we we look sloppy and second guessing ourselves.

100% I don’t blame Aarts just frustrated

20 behinds with at least 5 very gettable shots from seasoned goal kickers and young kids alike and that’s being conservative

Definitely a few extra sessions of goal kicking practice this week

The performance of sonz who had more impact that the highly fancied JHF and cumbo provides a chill pill , let’s get some games into Browny who I expect to come in this week and Banksy coz if I read the tea leaves there will be two new spots opening up when baker and Rioli split

Brown looked great in the vfl, his first qtr especially played more off his man as an interceptor
Had 9 possies and hardly ever wastes a kick

Rabble?
Come on mate a good % of this side won us a flag in 2020.
Count your lucky stars your not a Saints supporter.
The rabble is right now. That's exactly how we're playing. Not the 2020 side. Obviously they weren't. But they didn't choke match winning leads through laziness and poor discipline. That's not even counting the sudden appalling conversion rate when kicking for goal. And it doesn't even matter who it is now. It's spread throughout the whole team. No matter the opponent.

I love the club but the current playing group are a rabble. And we're also massive chokers! That's not putting anything negative on recent on field success. That's just describing the current playing list for the 2022 season.

Parker is not the answer but he would have out sprinted his opponent got more pace than Aarts
Parker 100% is not the answer. My post was more that if Faarts was replaced with Parker in that exact moment or even as sub, we would of won due to his aforementioned pace and arrogance.

Yes Jack missed 6, but he got 8 shots on goal. He crashed every pack. He directly set up a few perfect oppurtunities to score (that his teammates then ****ed up)

Without Lynch he was our only legit target and constantly double and triple team and competed so superbly. Really had quite an amazing game if you disregard the accuracy. So its a bit hard to blame him too much.

Aarts had 0 positive impact. He didn't have much of an opportunist to, but he ****ed up when he did. But also he didn't pick himself to by sub.

Its absolutely insane we keep picking a pretty slow, limited player who can only really play one position as our sub. Like don't you want your sub to either by pretty versatile where they can play and/or a real burst of energy? I don't understand how you would want Aarts over Maurice Rioli Jr as sub. Maurice would be running his guts out chasing down tired players. He's the perfect sub if you want a small forward for it.
