Nope. The best way to develop kids is to give them AFL games. Given his past history, Hardwick will always prefer oldies to young, developing players, unless injuries force him to do the right thing. If Cotchin plays next year, one of the kids won’t. As simple as that...
I actually believe somewhat what you are saying but I think Cotchin and Jack are valuable in playing lesser roles for next year .
We are t blessed with ready made contested mids and provided Jack ain’t costing Cumberland a spot as the 3rd tall I’d keep him.

If it was the forward 50 structures we wouldn’t be getting over 30 scoring opportunities with multiple set shots
We just failed to convert that’s not structural that’s players missing goals
Yep. Fair point. Although many entries I50 and shots on goal are under megapressure on account of sub-par delivery and midfield woefulness, dumbness and overall fatiguenessness.

We’re cooked for personnel. A regrettable shame as with our full compliment of players on the park in form we are still in flag window territory.

Time to regroup and look forward

Some hardline trades need to happen to refresh with top end talent
Dusty will leave worth 2 firsts
Kmac maybe worth something
Graham worth a 1st rounder
Vlaustin worth a 1st
If baker wants to leave we would get compensated
Prestia is the biggest decision to be made . No doubt good when available , but seemingly moves short
And baker who have their future ahead of them and has plenty of
Injuries .

Who the * is voting for Grimes, he had 6 goals kicked on him including the winner.
Yep, the winning goal was exact same move zurhaar did to him in the first qtr. to goal. Grimes sleeping at the wheel. Two weeks running he could have saved the game.
Hats off to Cumberland and Sonsie.

I’ll cut Miller some slack, he’s got some AFL traits, size, athleticism and foot skills but unfortunately the latter let him down today.
But it’s down to Dimma for picking Aarts, he’s not AFL standard yet Dimma persists with him.
Wasn’t saying Miller had a bad game, but he definitely contributed to us coughing up the win that’s all, thought he was great overall and will be better for it

I see the logic in selctimg Aarts as sub over a Dow type
Dow isn’t going to learn anything by being the sub when he could be playing his actual role in the vfl
If he’s sub he might not even get any game time and it’s just missed opportunity for development

As for sub I think Parker is the one we should go with, Castagna and Aarts have blown it but Parker can play multiple roles and having him as sub dosent rob him of development like it would a kid

If ever there was a blueprint for Dimma going forward it’s the performances of Cumberland and Sonsie.

FFS how long have supporters been screaming to get these guy’s in ahead of our 2 much talked about list cloggers. And when he finally has no other option but to play them, surprise, surprise, we see a couple of class players that can do something more than guard space

Just on grimes, he was standing zurhar for rhat final goal and wasn’t goal side! It’s little dumb lazy arrogant things like that that our senior plyers have been doing all season which have cost us bigly. They’re not disciplined and that just highlights it. Jacks done the same
With giving away dumb free kicks, Nank too.

Because Miller and Aarts are fringe players
If it was a sr body taking that kick out they wouldn’t of rushed it causing a turnover and if it was a seasoned best 22 forward they would of taken the set shot
Mate our senior players cost us

have a look at nank, jack grimes ..,there was no composure from them

Can't avoid not recruiting a contested mid anymore , clearances have been a issue for too long .
A first year inside mid wouldn’t of made a difference, especially when it’s a high probability we are going to get one in the trade period who can impact straight away instead of 3 years time

Yep it won't be long before we see Cumberland down back and Sonsie in the back pocket. If there is a way to **** up a players development Dimma and Co will find it.

You know that won’t happen though, like Edwards this year they will keep getting played ahead of kids. Best if they just get tapped on the shoulder our coaches are too emotionally invested in our senior players to ever drop them

Makes zero sense that you can be plus 20 i50s, 11more scoring shots and still *ing well lose ,,,,you seriously can’t make this s**t up
group has lost all confidence now

I’m beginning to doubt that baker is staying , read same for Rioli . If that’s the case , we should be putting games into browny and Banksy
