3 premierships and one good game from Mason Cox later. Imagine being any fan other than Hawthorn, Geelong, Sydney, West Coast etc. Saint FFS. No flags. A refresh will be better in the long run. We need to accept this year is done and make the contract/delisting/retirements in the next few weeks.

what puzzles me is stack still isn’t fit, it’s flipping round 15 how long do you need. Our depth is shot, but we go to the draft, bring in Cerra and hopefully another 23 year old. Cotchin, Houli, Edwards, Ashbury, KMac (one of his worst games I’ve seen), Caddy, Castagna, Aarts etc must all be moved on. Dusty should go permanent key forward with Lynch and Riewoldt. CCJ needs to prove himself more and more each week. This isn’t the VFL. Miller must play. The last two weeks have been lost at selection without doubt. 4 picks, Cerra, getrid of the dead weight and we can definitely be back next year.

We were always going to be playing catch up with the delayed and shortened preseason, but being smashed by injuries that have ruled players out and seen others playing hurt has finally taken it's toll.

Opposition fans and the media will pile on so let's take the hits and use them as motivation to come back in 2022 with a renewed hunger and determination.

This era has been fantastic but time waits for nobody, lets refresh the list, continue to evolve a new game plan and start a new era of success.
Beat me by this much!

I really don’t see Hardwick seeing out his contract what does he have left 3 years ? But In saying that he has delivered 3 flags and that is hard to come by we have a good draft hand in the off-season we should not trade any of the draft picks under any circumstances but the last 4 years has been a hell of a ride there is no chemistry there anymore

I think the short preseason due to late finish to season last year plus 3 years of shorter preseasons is an important factor in the decline. It hurt Brisbane for first four games of this year and last year was only our first year going lateish in the season.
At no stage in Brisbane's first 4 games did they look anywhere near as bad as we are right now. No excuse. Our defensive pressure has been non-existent all season, as has our momentum changing turnovers. The pivotal moment came against West Coast when we completely bottled it and that in turn has shattered our confidence. We have some seriously big losses coming up.

Play the kids
I can't see that happening. To do that then some of our older guys - who will go down as legends but are now cooked - would need to be dropped and that won't happen.

Then there's the players who are displaying some of the worst kicking skills in the league...are they any chance to be dropped?

It's not the ideal start to the weekend, and given the last four years, we're not used to this…But we shouldn’t get too down about it…Look after your mental health…One tip is to avoid certain TV/Radio/Social Media (involving Robbo, Whateley, Rendell, Cornes, Wilson etc) and chuck on a good replay instead…We have an abundance of them…

I already avoid those hacks like the plague. Unfortunately, watching a replay of any final from the last few years will only make me angrier at the moment (can't help it, unfortunately). I just avoid footy completely and listen to music or watch old TV or movies.

It’s very evident that the new rules for the stand on mark effectively killed our system and Dimma hasn’t adapted to change. You could tell from round one we were behind the 8 ball. Our system worked so well defensively we were able to have support in the back half and then create that awesome run through the middle of the ground and it hasn’t been there this year.

With this system breaking down it really highlighted that George and Rioli in particular played such an important role in that with their speed and pressure acts but when that system breaks down it shows them up for not winning enough footy. They are clearly good enough to play good footy but for 4 years now they have basically played a sacrificial role for the good of the team and now when the heat is on for them to win some footy and do something with it they have zero confidence.

I think Dimma realised the system was broken beyond repair and tried to change on the fly with go slow approach but it’s failed miserably.

The game has become so fitness based these players are covering so much territory just to get back and help out because of the play on the mark rules. It’s cooked the older guys who lets face it were going to hit the decline this year or next anyway.

I think Geelong are the next team that’s in serious trouble, the older guys will start to fall off a cliff given the amount of running involved now.

I think Dimma has done a great job but maybe it was a bit silly signing him up so early given the dramas at start of the season.

If he wants the job he gets the job.

Don’t like to point fingers as we were poi flavoured. .. but the turning point for killing out momentum was that play on half back where Naish was ball watching and didnt offer a contest
Dont blame a kid .. some highly rated players were pretty good at ball watching and not attempting to tackle hard enough when counted / needed

I think you're too hard on Dimma here. We had a shortened off season and when did the rules get changed?

He has tried to make adjustments on the go but the problem is we don't have the players for it. Weve created our list for chaos ball. Not highly skilled skill ball users.

Changing the game plan mid season already is hard enough but our constant injuries would make that even harder. We were dominant because everyone knew their role and played it well, so how can we do that when everyone gets a new role and each week we to make 4 changes.

On top of all that you have the footy soft cap which means Dimma doesn't have the support around him to help with all this.

And you know the fatigue for being the best team for 4 years, being in a hub for half of last year, bring hunted every game, having the entire footy world wanting you to lose, players just straight up declining because of age.

Give Dimma never year at least before making any judgements. Let's see what we look like after a long off season and time to change our game plan.

Maybe it is but I just think after 4 years at the top with 3 flags there is not much left there for him to achieve? Would he be willing to build us back up again?

Man tiger supporters turn quickly on their own! Bitterly disappointed, but what we’ve witnessed over the past 4 year has been something i'd never thought was possible given a culture of losing for over 4 decades. The senior players are all statue worthy material (Cotchin, Houli, Grimes, Edwards, Riewoldt) and the younger players (RDC, CCJ, Naish) deserve some time before we start laying the boots in.

Our injuries this year have been ill timed (the midfield, then the backline) and Hardwick's right, there's been no continuity to build a connected playing style and boy do we look disconnected #richmondhaveinjuries. What's happening is inevitable, its just hard to swallow since I assume we've all gotten used to lording our dominance and taking great pleasure in their salty resentment.

Not all doom and gloom. Regenerate (which the club has clearly planned for given our draft hand) and things can turn around quickly. Get some of of the embryonic DNA juice the geriatrics are on in G-Hole and even better.
