I absolutely hate Yze's slow, conservative, boundary line and kick-based game plan. I would rather risk losing by more with an exciting attacking brand of football than watching the type of footy we are playing in 2024.

It's like Malthouse from 15-20 years ago and the complete opposite of how he said he wanted us to play...

I know they did. This loss in isolation is neither here nor there. Carlton are obviously a good side, so that alone doesn’t annoy me.

But what pisses me off is that we let big rivals embarrass us like this when those same teams would never allow us no matter how crap they are. Carlton for example would never lose to us by this much even if their wooden spoon year coincides with our minor premiership. The whole “Carlton and Richmond don’t win much against each other” is only because we were the ones winning. Every time Carlton become better than us, they belt us like this.

There’s a certain pride that our team culturally lacks, and it is not fitting for a big club like us. I hope Yze changes that.

I dont think he has the sharpness he had, makes it worse with games that are really fast pace like this one was, just shows how far off he is physicaly and probably mentaly.

Problem is as well with his soft tissue injury’s creeping in he can’t put on the kg’s to keep him solid on the inside without losing more of that speed or risking further injuries

Just gotta stick him in the forward pocket and try and get him to jag a few one on one contested marks

But we simply aren’t getting it forward enough at the moment

100%. I've been saying the same thing to others. It is very similar to Malthouse's boundary line and territory focused game-style from the early 2010's.

Because those stats are not important. When we were dominating and winning flags - we didn't win hit outs, we didn't win clearances and we didn't win free kicks.

Don't believe 'statistical analysis' and Championship Data bullshit ('pressure rating, 'metres gained' - ha, bloody ha) - you need a group of players and a gamplan that does two things:

1. Have an attack that kicks more goals than the opposition attack
2. Have a defence that stops more goals than the opposition.

yep, even with balta up there we still struggled to hold it up there or get it there. We really are a crap ball disposal team. I just cant see a future with TT and hopper, Not good enough to build a team around. good enough for middle of the road footballs. Bolton is gone, better start looking for some CLASS mids, TT is far from class.

Hopper isnt a bad user and decision maker but we really just need some genuine class with a bigger body to play that role Bolton and Baker are playing at the moment when they are doing the midfield rotations
