Bauer is not up to it. Get some form in the 2s and play an extra mid. We could use the extra rotation.
It seems to me that opposition defenders are allowed to put their hands in the back of our forwards and push them out of the contest. Unfortunately Bauer is not strong enough to hold his position Would like to see him given a chance on the wing but that would mean dropping McIntosh. To be fair the pushing in the back during marking contests seems to be called or ignored randomly from contest to contest and game to game. I have no idea what the rule is anymore.

Got nothing to do with being strong enough. He deliberately runs under the ball.

There's not a lot of pressure for his spot. We lost Rioli and Baker, Mansell now plays forward, Short and Smith are our only small backmen (we could play Banks HBF but we're also missing wingers).

The whole team composition is way off, far too much depth when it comes to inside mids and key position players, but a few injuries in other positions and we'd barely be able to field a realistic team.
I actually think Green could be worth a run as a small defender.

So frustrating. All preseason we heard that they have worked on the inboard kick.

Saw it a couple of times tonight in the 2nd quarter but nothing else.

But what is the point of taking that kick or switching if you do it as slow as we did? Allowed the Saints to get back easily.
Saints went inboard alllllll day.

Reckon I saw it twice, and once was Lalor, 3rd game.

We looked VERY hesitant to move the pill, and a couple of players in particular it was very noticeable that they were gunshy in making a decision.

Was great to get to the ground and see it first hand because a lot you miss off screen.

Was a disappointing 2nd half, after a decent start. I just have to continue reminding myself to be patience. There’s definitely some real X factor qualities coming through.
Our current midfield group is C grade at best. The future midfield make up of Lalor, Smilie, Hotton, McAuliffe and pick number 1(2025/26) in 3 years time will be simply delicious.
Need to replace Short as soon as possible…make room to develop are couple young kids with serious hot wheels, providing attacking run from CHB.
Our back line will solid as rock. So no concern there.
The forwards situation is our biggest challenge. Connection from midfield to forward inside 50 is non existent atm. Going to need a lot of work to fix this up. The young forwards will take time to develop.
Keep faith and appreciate the journey.
Go Tiges!

TT is a victim of the spuds around him. At least he's clean in the contest.

The amount of times he's the first recieve and gets a Handball out to trzise, Hopper or Dow for them to fumble it or get caught holding the ball was staggering.

I agree his impact was limited today. But that's his game, get it to other who can link up. He's playing in a midfield with horrible balance that doesn't suit his skill set.
IMO we never expected to get both Taranto and Hopper and putting the two together in the midfield has never worked And then we have put players around them who are not quick. Sonsie has shown he can do it but Dimma played him out of position. McAulif hasn’t been given the chance. Banks and Smith were considered to small. Now we have Yze who comes from the Demons who played three big midfielders. Hawthorn have shown that the big slow midfielders is not the only way. Unfortunately our coaches are led by Yze

yep, tough day for us.
that second half was just a part of what it is.... accept it and move on.
There are many more smackings heading our way
we're at the bottom of the mountain looking up.

I sat second row from front not quite behind our bench .every time one of our players would come off for a rest they would walk down in front literally about 8 feet away
The look.of despair and defeat and total bewilderment was written all.over there faces. They are completely bereft of any confidence. Also no talking at all on.the ground no yelling out your hot or kick it or anything like that really disappointed 😔

Best thing to do in these post game threads is to come in late and ignore all the first few pages over the emotional driven nuffy posts.

Results literally don't matter right now. We're looking for ayer improvement not team improvement
Ayer improvement????????????

Yep, I was at the game myself. Some of the matchups were horrible. Dow was on Wood a lot.
