Those bagging Gibcus, let's see if those opinions hold water in two years after Tarrant and Grimes are no longer with us. The kid has to learn. He's 15 games into a 200 game career. I'm gonna back him in.
Think there's too big of an expectation on kid.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but he should never have played senior football after the Swans game.
Pre-season will be interesting with him.

Most frustrating end to a season ever. I feel like we had the game to go all the way. Especially if the rest of the finals at the G

It was frustrating in that we didn't get our act together until it was too late to make the top four, and even then we were trying new players, you can't do that going into finals, you need a team that's played together for a while.

Yeah maybe but I felt our momentum was really building. Similar to 2017.

Last night further proof to me we can match it with the best at their ground and despite getting the rough end of the pineapple from the umpires.

That game was our season in a nutshell. Great expectation and good old Richmond shoot ourselves in the foot.

Umps won't give us squat, rinse and repeat, and then find a new way to bring us down. 5 second review, there's a first.

We blood some great youngsters who made us all sit up and say finally the season is alive and worth watching, then we shoot them down because they make rookie mistakes. even though every one of them look long term players.

We played very good football, but so did they, but lose it in the last moment. Every loose ball seemed to bounce their way tonight, every loose kick landed in their laps, that's footy sometimes yet we led the game most of the night. They probably played their best game for the year and will have some good in's for next week.

Was pretty happy overall. Fairy tale ending didn't happen, but did you really expect it with such a young side. 5 virtual rookies. But we got games into some exciting young players, we have quite a few in the ressies and won't be losing any players who have been vital in our season this year. Cotchin perhaps, has had a good season but when you need that extra gear for finals like tonight, it wasn't there for him. And he will be a year older next year, time to bow out you'd think and hand over responsibility. One of the great Richmond careers. Jack is still good enough as a second/third fiddle.

Was a great game and nothing in it all night, that's finals footy.

Agree, I said to the missus, watch the ball bounce into their hands, did it all night, we played a great game and were unlucky not to win, actually looking forward to next year now.

Looking at the end scene which is front on, at some stage the ball is going to actually appear to be over the top of the post even though it could be in front of or behind it. You need a side on view to see if it is or not.
Yep we will never know because you would need an overhead shot or sharks with laser beams - so it's inconclusive.

Well said.

They definitely got a lot of lucky bounces etc. Ignoring umpires the ball loved the Lions last night.

And our midfield set up was poor all game. If we'd managed to break even there it would have been an easy win.

We desperately need someone like Taranto to allow us to play a winning style. Really our only weakness. And it is a huge weakness, cause you lose those contests then you lose control of the game.

Hate that the ARC stuff is overshadowing how good a game that was last night. Give me these 100 v 100 point games anyday than 55 v 70 dour affairs.

We had 6 players appearing in first final , lost Prestia and had an underdone Dusty in there. Should be proud that we made the finals considering we lost 6? games under a goal, we clean that up and we finish top 4.

Of those first games in finals I thought Maurice pressure was fantastic, just needs to clean up his disposal but what a player we have.
Sonsie was impressive very slick
Ross - probably one of his best games for the club. Made a couple of blues but got plenty of it and seems like he has more confidence to take the game on.
Gibcus had a shocker could tell he was nervous, didn't see the match up for him all night.
Miller - did some okay things and was neither here nor there for mine
Cumberland - Was due for a quite one and had it at the worst time again nervous but will be better for the experience.

Hope Jack and Cotch go on - Cotch still playing well and with Dions body unreliable we need experience in midfield. Don't have a key forward waiting in the wings and Jack is still playing decent.

I thought Tarrant was one of our best defenders all night, I know Joe ends up with 3 but the last goal IMO is on Nank and Vlas for not killing the ball for a point.

Short was horrendous why on earth did they feel like he was a good match up for Neale. I said to my mate I was watching with get Pickett on him.

Short in the middle worries me I feel like Baker would be a better fit for the mid role and Short goes back to half back.

We seem to be to tall down back for mine Tarrant and Balta take the key forwards but Gibcus didn't have a match up that suited and Broad on Cameron was a bad move when we had Rioli right there. To me it was Rioli on Cameron from the start that needed to happen.

Nank isn't a captain IMO. Tom Lynch to me was the man for the job.

I know Dusty was underdone but he just gives off these vibes that his head isn't in the game anymore.

Get in Taranto and man Hopper would be great to if Dusty was to retire or leave but we have a good bunch of kids that we have got games into and I still feel there is a place for Stack.

For all his faults, was a dozen times better than Balta last night, who seems to be off limits for a critique.
Damn near our worst, Balta.
