country will prob be shut down by next weekend tho
100%. Explains why any criticism of Rioli, George or Shai when they don't get involved for periods of the game is unwarranted... they are playing to instructions.Konrad Marshall writes about the Richmond mantra of position over possession in his second book. Players will quickly get dropped if they don't adhere to the game plan.
Dimma’s press conference. Was he referring to umpires when discussing Lynch/Riewoldt?Having watched bits and pieces of the other three games of this round, Im even more confused on how Lynch/Riewoldt didn't kick 12 plus on Thursday night. Umpires are making a lot of soft calls, yet those two couldn't buy one.
How is tassie?I'm hoping they let me back in first
Yep.Dimma’s press conference. Was he referring to umpires when discussing Lynch/Riewoldt?
It's a one way ticket.I'm hoping they let me back in first
Ross and Nank...I don’t know how we are going to beat Collingwood this early in the season (when we are not up to speed yet), they will have our measure in the ruck and midfield.
we need a serious hunter in the midfield that has pace because this will be our undoing with shorter quarters, even Carton killed us there But they couldn’t capitalise, Collingwood will.
who goes into the midfield?
who goes into the ruck?
LOL'd when they mentioned Bayside, right next to the Saints head quarters.Love it, they failed to mention we are the premiers though, l think they knew more than that and were trying to be creative.
Yep.
Yes he did, mentioned we are the defending champsLove it, they failed to mention we are the premiers though, l think they knew more than that and were trying to be creative.
The Dog's wouldn't have beaten their AFLW's team they way they played. As soon as they got the ball and saw a loose man oh I'll kick it to him 20m away. Across the ground and back again, and so on. Would not pull the trigger and take the game on and kick it forward, so easy for Collingwood to defend. Richmond are the exact opposites, get it in asap and let our forwards have fun. Prestia left off from last year, Cotchin looks very eager and in good touch as does Martin. You have to give some credit to Carlton's mids up to a point. Cripps will always find it and a fit Mark Murphy is a very good player who also finds it.I don’t know how we are going to beat Collingwood this early in the season (when we are not up to speed yet), they will have our measure in the ruck and midfield.

talking of changes something thats been nagging away at me.Caroline Wilson mentioned on ABC's Offsiders that Richmond has asked the AFL to bring the Round 2 game forward to Wednesday instead of Thursday. Collingwood have agreed to that change, but the AFL declined it because they said that it would be too much of a change in such a short time.
I see the logistical problems it would cause with broadcasting etc. so I understand why. However, if they do want to condense the season, then they would need to start thinking about bringing forward Rounds 3 and 4 now.
You really need to go look at that game Grundy dominated the ruck and had plenty of influence without getting a whole heap of ball.Yep I was wrong it was Chol but the 2 rucks worked bc Grundy didnt have an influence so i would definitely stick with a 2 ruck combo against him
