They have persisted with Ross, however he has been poor in two games.
Carlton, 14 kicks, 6 turnovers.
GWS, 7 kicks, 3 turnovers.
He can find a spell of form in the VFL, then return.
Hugo, Matt P and Dow have cemented their senior slots and are untouchable.
Strange because he went at 80 odd % against Carlton. I watched the replay with Ross in mind and he turned it over twice with missed kicks. A turnover is not where you kick it down the line to a contest and the opposition eventually win the ball back, because that happens about 50% of the time across a game if it is a close contest.

His game against Carlton whilst not great was not poor. But he is being played out of position so what is the point of playing him as a half back, wing or half forward. Either play him in the guts and have a good look, or don't play him at all and let a player more suited to the roles he has been playing.

How do we manage the forward line with reiwoldt returning?
Balta has to stay forward but 3 talls didn’t function as well as what only 2 did

I’d only play jack if he was absolutely 100% right otherwise give him another week to recover

Maybe play him as a sub?? And if he has to come on balta or baker can take whatever the injured player position was
Jack shouldn't come back in, it would seem to me as much as I love the guy

If Jack is fit he will most likely play.
Our coaching staff are not as stupid as some are implying, they will have plans to utilise the strengths of Balta and Lynch along with Jack.
If we win plenty of clean ball across half back and through the middle all forwards will have plenty of opportunities and most combinations will likely succeed, if we win as much clean ball as we did in the last 20 minutes against Carlton… Lockett, AblettSnr, Carey, KB and Matthews would struggle.

Perhaps I'm one of those flowers you're referring to ? Some real a$$holes on this site too. They're pretty easy to spot. They're the ones taking giant ******* steps backwards after shitting all over a bunch of club legends after R1.

Nobody is free from criticism about their playing or even their future, that's a given and I certainly have been critical of given performances on given days. This club has driven me crazy for half a century. But perhaps you've been on the dark side of the moon or something because some of the personal attacks on Cotch, Edwards, Jack, the MC, our recruiters, the coach and the Club as a whole went beyond the pale.

That's what I've been critical of because it was unwarranted and undeserved, especially coming from a bunch of armchair warriors.

Rather be a flower than one of those a$$holes any day. But hey, you be you.
The definition of arseh*le is wrriten in this post. An absolute w***er.

Wether people like it or not Jack WILL be coming back into the side this week. Not only is it maddies match but he's been one of our leading goal kickers for the good part of a decade now and I doubt Hardwick will keep him out of the side let alone play him at the VFL level........

Jack will come in. Had a poor game against Carlton, still has enough in the tank to worry oppo coaches.

I've got more chance of being sub this week than Jack. He's playing unless he has an issue at training this week.
miller for grimes and aarts for jack seems logical which leaves ross or JR as the most likely subs. parker and hugo look locks and george will be required for his kaos and a goal or two.

Saints will be hard to beat Sunday after the Warney Memorial tonight.

What an emotional night.
Don't know about that, the emotional energy exerted after a significant loss can do the opposite and perhaps especially when much is made of a match that a team should play like devils to honour someone who has gone. It sounds like it make sense but I'm not convinced it actually works and would not be surprised if it makes it much harder to perform.

Remember how our mob performed in the Tom Haffey game? Port last weekend is another.

Where does he fit now. I understand your emotion
It's not just emotion, although of course it partly is, that's the luxury you afford the greats of your club.

You can't judge our forward setup across the 2 games so far because we lost one and won one. Our forward line functioned well against Carlton, we just couldn't get it down there in the last Q, 2 inside 50's from memory.

Jack is not your typical tall forward. He is still mobile, still good off the ground, still smart fit and covers the ground well, if not as good as before. The main difference is he has lost his jump, so he plays like a smart medium forward. He fits in because the rucks do not go forward for a spell or when the other ruck is on the field. They stay on the pine.

The one thing that is different is that Parker is also playing, who plays a high half forward. So the question is, is Jack better value than Parker. Can Parker, Jack, Balta and Lynch all play together. We will find out this week.

Interesting selections coming up.

When Meatball is fit, he gets a another week's rest, then straight back in.
Miller probably loses out to Grimes, which is sad cause he deserves to play AFL.

But we have to build the midfield. So play Dow, or if they want him to rest post knee tweak, RCD.

JR probably back in, but he disturbs the structure of Balta and Lynch, so play him up the ground and floating 3rd tall. Which means we still need forward pressure. Interesting work for the coaches to maximise our game with so many players worth playing.

And of course Dusty straight back in when he feels like it.
