Round 1 - Richmond vs. Carlton

Richo(Has been a great player and was freakish last year but I doubt he can match last years effort being another year older), Tambling(You have got to be kidding), White(Never heard of him), Edwards(Never heard of him), Jackson(Never heard of him), Raines(Isn't he a backman??), Newman(Isn't he a backman??), Polo.

Out of the list you gave you have got Polo to add to the rotation. Half the list struggles to stay in the senior side. Some of the others are backman.

Nice try though.

True, Richo has been a great player and Is a great player. And last year was a great year for RichoMan. Never under estimate him, He can do anything he puts his mind too. Richo may be 34 years old but he moves like hes 5-6 years younger. Just watch and see buddy :).

I think it'll be a great game and could go either way but I just have a feeling that Richmond will have more options in their forward line than Carlton. Especially with the chance that Fev will either not play or be only half fit. Having said that, GO BLUES!!!

If you've never heard of them, then you aren't qualified to make an assessment on their abilities. Newman and Raines get runs through the mid-field, so that shows the extent of your knowledge. Tambling, while nowhere near as dominant as Buddy, is still a solid player.

Richo is my favourite Richmond player and would love to have had him at Carlton.

I just can't see him continuing last years form but besides Round 1 and Round 15 I hope he has another great year.

I am outta here..Might catch youse on Thursday night...I'll be one of 50000 Carlton supporters singing the Carlton theme song at around 1015pm.:thumbsu:

Well, You never know with Richo, He is the kind of player that has some Average years then comes out and has a Superb year. Believe it or not i think Richo can do the same this year.

lol at the arrogant carlton supporters.
i rekon its 50/50
and wtf parrot. when we mention our young players you say oh they are too young and we cant judge them yet. Yet you call mitch robinson a star who oozes class:confused:
well if he is a star right now that makes cotchin the best player the AFL has ever seen u idiot
:)

I either hope this guy is trying to be another parrot or is just really as his username says 13-14 years old, otherwise, wow, such ignorance from one person.

Richo, first off, yes he was freakish last year, but there is NO DOUBT that he can match last years effort, he hasn't lost anything, he is as fit as ever and there is still nobody who knows how to play on him, let alone anyone who can!

Tambling, while he isn't fantastic, he is still a solid player, enough has been said about him, but the facts are he has improved as a player each year and it is expected for him to do the same again this year.

Matt White, well if a guy who plays 20 games in a 22 game season is someone who 'struggles to stay in the senior side' then I'm stumped, White is fast, and very tough and he's still only 21yo and well entrenched in our best 22.

Jackson, well he is just like that Mitch Robinson, only Jackson has done more than rough a few players up, Jackson has been averaging about 25 disposals throughout the NAB campaign and is set to explode, he is fast, tough and knows how to get the ball, will be a big improver this year.

Raines and Newman have both shown they can play in the midfield, Newman will play more there this year and Raines is best suited to running off the half back.

Edwards, well I think he is best suited either a half back or as a small forward, at least until he builds his body up a bit more.

There we go.:)

Are you serious? Mitch Robinson is nothing like Jackson. Jackson is a tagger only - played well on Judd in Round 1, although Judd was about 30% fit. Mitch Robinson will be a gun midfielder in the near future. "Rough up a few players"? Robinson has only played forward and midfield. Hasn't played defense. You might be confusing him with Joseph who did well on Ablett and Rioli. I think this is the guy you mean....

Joseph is talented, tough and very very fast, as Gary Ablett found out. He's a future midfielder, who will be doing his apprenticeship in the defensive half this year. He'll most likely be lining up on Cousins or Brown next Thursday. Will be a great challenge for the 19 year old. :)

You forgot to mention Heath Scotland and Kade Simpson for Carlton.

And if you are going to include a player like Foley then you can also add to the Carlton list players like Chris Johnson, Adam Bentick, Andrew Walker and Richard Hadley.

There is no doubt you have a good core of mids with Deledio and Cousins but the depth is no match for Carltons.

Also has Cousins played a full match yet in preseason? His match fitness to run out a full game could be doubtfull.
Take off your blinkers you one eyed fool.
Simpson ans Scotland are not even close to the player Foley is:rolleyes:

FFS, Simpson is a former Captain and gun player, and more consistent than Foley. I know Foley can rack up possessions but he doesn't do much with them. Simpson may get fewer possessions, but drives them long into the forward line giving our forwards plenly of opportunities. As for Scotland, he p[lays a sweeping role across half back. I know he has been recovering from groin surgery, but in the last Practice match was back to his best. A very reliable defender with great run out of the backline. The Tigers may have to subdue his dominance to win this one

Extremely pumped for this one. Two old rivals, Carlton and Richmond, two teams well and truly on the rise, going head to head in the season opener under lights at the G.

Oh yeah...
I forgot one little detail to the game....two old premiership team mates, both brownlow medallists, will go head to head!!

Cannot wait.

I am an AFL member, but going with a group of guys, so I cannot go into the AFL reserve, as it is a limit to one guest pass only..

Got tickets nonetheless the other day however, where the lady at ticketek said there were only 3 bays left...Q2,3 and 4.

Got seats up in Q4, so one one hand I am very lucky to have got tickets as there will no doubt be a struggle to get them later in the week, but on the other hand, Q4 isn't the best view, although, I have not been up there for quite some time so I may not remember what it is like..

Anyone been up there recently who can tell me what the view is like?? I doubt you would miss out on much as you can see the whole ground?

Their is so many things wrong with that post I don't even know where to start, Simpson better then Foley? Heath Scotland dominating.
When did this all happen, and since when was Simpson a former captain.
Kouta>Whitnall>Judd.
No Simpson

I don't know how Simpson is more consistent because he "drives his possessions long into the forward line" HAVE YOU NEVER SEEN FOLEY PLAY?!?!:eek:

Foley get's it more and does more with it, you muppet.

You just described McMahon to a T. Sure, he makes a big mistake in pretty much every game, but he's great otherwise.

He had a very brief stint as captain in 2007 when Whitnall was injured.

I know that.
If you are filling in for the injured captain for a few games it does not count
