Thought you were taking the piss until I looked it up

Western Australia Day

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search
Western Australia Day (formerly known as Foundation Day)[1][2] is a public holiday in Western Australia, celebrated on the first Monday in June (3 June in 2013) to commemorate the founding of the Swan River Colony in 1829. Because of the celebration of Western Australia Day, WA does not celebrate the Queen's Birthday Holiday in June, as most states do; it is held in September or October instead.
Bit of a sore point with a lot of West Aussies. Most preferred Foundation Day rather than this stupid name... most still call it by its proper name anyway.

Richmond are a massive chance to win over here. WCE have only defeated GWS north Brisbane Bulldogs and Melbourne any half decent team has beaten them.

They really arent in any great form only beating 5 of the worst teams in the comp.

Just because we have only played shit teams doesn't mean we aren't in good form, we would have lost that roos game if we had played them a month earlier and roos have taken it to all the best sides and only just lost. have we proven ourselves yet? no, but it's only a matter of time

Put it this way you have beaten teams that other top 8 teams will beat and today is a must win game.

The tigers are a massive chance to have a good 5+ goal win today.

Our KPP's will run all over them. As long as Jack is held to a goal or two, West Coast will run out 6-7 goal winners.

There midfield will run circles around yours

We are the 2nd best tackling side in the game, they are one of the worst, combine that with our defenders and forwards, thats why we will break even in the middle. so the difference will be our KPP's in the back and forward lines, and ours is better. i guess lets wait and see

Richmond would want to put in a better showing than what they did last week against Essendon, but the Eagles over there could be a step to far. Need a massive game from Maric who is going to have to combat Cox & Nic Nat. Can't see it happening myself, and the Eagles to record a pretty comfortable win.

We are missing Conca, Ellis and Tuck from our best 22. All midfielders.

+ Knights who rotates through there and rumour is that Deledio might be a late withdrawal.

That's really the only reason I'm confident. That is pretty much your second rotation right there. Afte the stars (Lids, Dusty, and Cotch) your mids will drop away a fair bit.

As a Richmond member however, I can't lose tonight!

I'd assumed this was a Monday night game simply to take advantage of the public holiday here to have Monday night football telecast into the Eastern States. No idea why 7 aren't showing it or why it is on a Monday then.

We is in for a reaming:

Maric looks to be playing injured (basically our only real ruck), so Cox and Nic Nat will run amok (like Belly and Ryder did the week prior)

As for our midfield, we are missing 3 of our starting 22 mids, and playing 3 more in less than ideal condition:

Tuck - Out (best extractor)
Conca - Out (best inside mid on 2013 form)
Ellis - Out (has stepped up to being one of our best mids prior to injury)
Cotchin - rumoured to be playing injured since round 5 (our best player)
Deledio - may be a late withdrawal given injury he got last week, otherwise will play injured (our second best player)
Foley - 2 games in from neary 2 years out of the game (can be one of our better inside mids but has a long way to come)

Our forward line is dysfunctional, and cant kick straight to save itself, with this made worse by Knights being out (provided our only real high forward scoring option outside rotating mids). Dropping McGuane means we basically have 1 player up forward who even knows how to spell defensive pressure (King), but it shows how desperate we are for scoring that he was dropped for Aaron Edwards.

The backline is missing Grimes (our most talented backman IMO), and Pettard (who was doing well in HBF), but have been serviceable at worst. Problem is the ball will be flying down their non stop tonight, and they will struggle to stop the flood.

If this was against a mid/lower tier side, we may have a shot. WCE are getting their top 4 mojo back though, and on a big Subi ground with a undermanned and injured midfield, we need to be stocking up on da lube
