Autopsy Round 12, 2024: Hawks stone the Crows

I think everyone is completely mis reading the Ginni ****-up in the 3rd.

I think he was thinking goal as his first instinct always does, but I think he saw Dear at the last minute and genuinely got caught in two minds.

The kick didn't even look like a shot on goal, nor a pass, he just got in a jumble and landed somewhere in between.

His reaction after too, it was just a absolute brain fade.

To start attacking his attitude and character after that is a bit pissweak.

That's exactly how I saw it. If he was having a ping it would have gone through post high.

The best option was the pass to dear but he saw it too late as the instinct when you find yourself 40 out straight in front with space is to have a ping.

If he had the shot it would have been fine. Problem was he tried to change his mind after dropping the ball and it shanked forward.

Loved some of the stuff Croc did today.
Some excellent defensive efforts.
Kid's on his way to being a top tier player.

There was a passage on the wing in the third where he crashed in really hard and then followed up again locking the ball into the contest. Was the toughest passage of play in his career so far. He's not known for that but absolutely put his body on the line for the team. You could feel the whole teams pressure lift after that. There wasn't much scoring from it but we really hunted them hard for 5 or so minutes.

Also shoutout to Dear for a repeat efforts a few minutes later contesting a mark, chasing, tackle, tap out, tackle.

Just needs a bit more size, kicking improvement and endurance to stay involved longer. Star in the making, looking like he'll win a few Coleman's I think.

He has and awesome contest on the wing in the 3rd, was ferocious. Adelaide player equally so, and they collided HARD. Awesome football.

Must be broken … or too many players who killed it !
Nah the rating system just penalises inaccuracy and unforced errors a lot more than other systems. He had 2 goals from 7 shots and 6 clangers.

Just got back - great win!

21 of the 22 cracked in all day.

One bloke catted the place up with conditional efforts or no effort at all.

I'll leave this for now as lets celebrate the win, but I'm sure a few of you saw what I, and all those around me saw.

Great win for Jack!

You calling out the player you think wasn't putting in or just cowardly sniping ? Please tell us what we all supposedly saw...

"Catted the place up"? ?

I love how our forward line is evolving. It's now stocked with potential goal kickers everywhere (at quarter time we had a nice spread of single goal kickers, making it difficult for the opposition to know who to cover). As a result, we're now starting to reach 100 points in games once more.
All while our backline is working beautifully too. Their ability not only to defend oppsition inside 50s but rebound with precision has become regulation over the past month

What's happened to Worpels disposal???

Streaming out of clearance after clearance and constantly hitting forwards on the chest with worm burners.

Worps has always bbeen good with the 20-30m darts. He struggles with the 40-50m passes. Not sure if it's his vision, or execution.

One negative I did notice today was that we lapsed back into the old habit of kicking straight to the opposition repeatedly. We'd improved that area significantly in recent weeks but had a relapse today. Lucky it didn't cost us too much, and hopefully it was only a thing this week...

It helps that we have talls contesting so the ball isn't swept away easily by the opposition.

This bring our smalls into the game and that puts immense pressure on the opposition.
Chol and Dear are giving us so much value.

I know some expect more from croc but have a good look at him up close, we forget how ' Young' some of these kids are! Need to relax a bit when things aren't going our way. I for one, think opposite, playing a high half frwd role, linking up between the arcs and at the same time asked to hit the scoreboard! Not easy. Coming along nicely for a 21 year old .
Remember, analyse his game as a half frwd not a inside/ outside mid. That's when perspective can help.

It's staggering the contrast on the Crows' Board how upbeat they were before today's game v's now.

It’s not that surprising tbh. They are fairly disenchanted with their coach which is totally fair enough. Today they were so off the boil. I don’t believe they are as bad as they performed today personally.
