Autopsy Round 12, 2024: Hawks stone the Crows

The crow player was holding CJ by the throat before the headbut and the umpire was staring right at it. Crickets until CJ reacted.
The crows players head did not move back one micro millimetre when it happened ffs he was reacting to the action rather than the incident. Would be pissed if CJ got a week

And if you watched Ginni after, he was absolutely gutted with himself too. Gives a shit about us winning and he's a guy who should be backing himself anyway.
He's paid to kick goals and should have the shot.

Who's to say Dear would have kicked the goal if Ginni had have passed it to him anyway?

Ginni is having a great year, we shouldn't lose sight of all the positive things he is currently doing over one or two minor brain fades.

great win, as expected. Important, because it was a game we expected to win, the pressure was on the Hawks.
well done lads!!!
whilst there will be debate about the recruiting of our top 7 picks in the last four years (one is a DEFINITE win), there can be no debate whatsoever about the recruiting over last summer:
Chol
d'Ambrosio
Ginnivan
seriously, three fabulous pick-ups, all have added a huge amount to our line-up. Far far exceeded my expectations, as I am sure everybody else's. Chol an absolute bonanza as the forward-ruck option, Ginnivan makes our forward line " one too many" for the opposition, and d'Ambrosio is a pure class 20yo who is a Karl Amon clone. WOW

I'd agree with The Kid on our list, we need a classy key forward and a classy key back, but those three have made the team this year significantly better than last year.

That will give the media another opportunity to question the effort of our opposition or their coaching. I mean it is becoming a bit of a trend. ;) Perhaps the Hawks have something to do with it.

We controlled the game from start to finish and demolished them in the middle. Our forward line, whilst a lot better than recent years, is still a work in progress. We left a few too many opportunities go.

I am going to have to watch the replay to confirm this, but I think I even saw CMac put his body on the line for a 50/50 contest and fight like a lion. :thumbsu: Great to see.

Dylan Moore is an amazing player for such a small figure. Unbelievable work rate and goes when it is his turn, every single time without fail. Love him.

Our midfield group is young enough to keep developing into a fearsome group. Today they were awesome and I loved the way they flicked the ball around to get it to a dangerous player on the outside.

We are coming and coming hard. Go Hawks.
No short steps in that one. Awesome effort and follow-up

Smashed them. Deserved a 10+ goal win. It will come.

Should win next 3 with ease.

Day was clearly just hyping Ginni up.

I can’t believe so many think that Day was giving him a spray.
I think the big one that people are talking about was the last one(?) which was him getting hyped up, but I believe Day cracked it at him a couple times throughout the game for selfish play.
I reckon it looked aggressive, but it was also definitely hype.

The crows players head did not move back one micro millimetre when it happened ffs he was reacting to the action rather than the incident. Would be pissed if CJ got a week

If anything crows player met him 1/3 of the way.

I remember croad once got a week off for leaning on ‘the look’

Also no one ever got time off for choke hold till Brian lake

But if a ‘headbut’ with no force is a ‘look’ to be punished, isn’t a choke with no force?

Love watching the boys - you can see the confidence in each other growing and the forward line are really gelling

Can’t sing the praises of D’Ambrosio enough but would be unfair on everyone else to signal him out when we had Moore, Day, Jars - the list goes on

Congrats Gunners on 250 games - saddens me he left but gladdens me that he returned to play it on the MCG with the hawks

Hope the 2014 mob have a great time tonight

Sam touched on the Day/Ginni thing in his presser. Not much to it I reckon, was a bit of a bad boy "from now on, that's how you drive!" after burning his mates five minutes earlier. Honestly don't mind a bit of selfishness, we historically go the extra pass and stuff up even in the glory years.

If that's how HTB will be umpired from now on I think it only helps us. Deft touches to advantage without tacking advantage appears to have been trained since Sam took over and our tackling pressure will certainly get us turnovers.

Wrapped with the pressure and kids having fun/being themselves offensively. Dear has that Bambi energy, jumping like a hyperactive bunny, great to see, could be a weapon around the ground in a few years.

Balanced effort with the midfield playing for each other, Newk and Worps have really gelled where they were struggling together earlier. Day is the future.

After the game you could see Ginni and Day having a laugh with Day giving him a friendly shove…..perhaps reliving the moment. Perhaps Day expressing his dislike on Ginni not doing a team thing. See no problem with that….just a team leader reminding his players the right thing to do.
I hope so.
The vision at the time was quite confrontational.
