I actually think we will hammer St.K.
We should have hammered Brisbane but we didn't give it our all.
Bolts wasn't thrilled about that and you can bet your booties he will be driving this fact into the lads all week.
Make no mistake this coach is EXCEPTIONAL.
St.K on the other hand are overrated and are right now ripe for a smashing IMO. Their coach is talking about how the challenge for him is to find a way to make the players believe they can win. If that is how well they are travelling, then I think they are well and truly up the creek.
They have injury concerns too.

More than once we have copped a series of 1st quarter injuries and they have over run us.

The first time we played them in '13 was an example of that.

Also, Geary kept stomping on Murphs foot if I remember correctly.

They beat Essendon and Freo by over 5 goals...may i remind you we beat those teams by 15 and 4 points respectively.
They also beat Melbourne comfortably and almost beat North.

The point that they are competitive at Etihad is valid...certainly more so than when they play away.
Essendon got close to North as well. Doesn't really mean anything.

If we played Freo at Etihad, we would have beaten them by a lot more too.

They still got smashed against the Bulldogs and GWS though. You said they're always competitive at Etihad, but that isn't true.

You should win.

Odds will reflect that.

Injuries are forcing us to play the youth, will attempt to enjoy those little wins from the kids, while IMO you have a big win on the scoreboard.

We may take the points, but I can't see it being a big margin. Our prime movers looked tired on Saturday after their efforts against Geelong the week before. We're hoping that the 8 day break will help refresh the players before the bye.

Probably and fairly so.

Sumner, Phillips, Murphy, CCurnow and Boekhorst all to come back into our best team.

Could be interesting in a few weeks time.
Think Boekhorst might struggle to make our best 22 now. Lamb, Wright, Sumner, Kerridge, Byrne and the improved form of Thomas probably have him covered these days. When you think that SOS will probably add 3 mids through the off-season then his future prospects aren't exactly enhanced. I'd put him in the "Fringe-Dweller" class along with Graham, Dick & Whiley. Has a power of work to do in the contested part of his game.
Yep, Can't see walker Keeping his place ahead of Curnow for much longer... maybe long enough to get to 200.

Not sure who the other weak links are?
I think you're right regarding Walker, but reckon those links are still made of relatively light gauge steel LR. We buggerised around in the second half to amble away with a 6 goal win, while 8th place Adelaide would've ruthlessly disemboweled, dismembered and cremated that same Lions side by 15+ goals. Rapt for the team to be winning games and showing continual improvement, but we've still got miles to go as Bolts points out every week.
Me too, Chooka. That doesn't make him a whipping boy however. He's very slow and his possessions just don't hurt the opposition enough. I've been pushing his barrow for 2 years. The players who bounce between VFL and AFL aren't necessarily whipping boys. They are often - like Nicky G - just caught in that twilight zone between the two levels. He has to shut the VFL door behind him by working on his deficiencies like his sporting life depends on it. It actually does and I bet he is.
^ This. :thumbsu:

You've got injuries , we've got injuries .
You can't really play the youth card when you were older than Adelaide yesterday .

No surprise that Gibbs was so subdued after his effort the Sunday before had him chundering. Reckon he will bounce back this week. Same with Dre.

Actually you missed my point, I don't think we've played the youth enough. Injuries sustained yesterday will force changes, time to work through the list.

Exactly how old are Goddard and McCartin who were injured yesterday ?
You've been rebuilding for 3 years and you say you haven't been playing the youth enough ...what's going on in Seaford ?

I was referring to the fact we can't rely on veterans with Roo, Fisher and Dempster who are likely out this week.

I guess this a board that don't like discussing upcoming games with opp supporter...

I do, for sure.
Not being silly, but I think St.K might be in trouble, do you agree?

Generalizing a bit there...

Yes I do.

I think we should be churning through the list more.

This week fate has forced the coaches hand.

Biggest problem Bolton will have is knowing much about done of the guys who will play this week.

I look forward to that, it needs to happen.
