I do live in great fear of a Zac Smith recall with Stanley to FF nessesitated by how poor Buzza was. I’d rather Henderson Forward than see Zac play another AFL game.
Zac played extremely well in the twos and he's the only tall on our list who might give the dominant Gawn some trouble.

I said this in another thread but Henry is the one I would move forward. Its late and a bit desperate but thats where we are.

I have seen Henry moved forward in game, twice now. Last week he was up forward very late in the game. Took one cracking overhead mark and did something else that suggests he is comfortable up forward.

He is 191cm and has a big leap and sticky fingers. He is quick over the ground, built a reasonable tank and has a very good defensive mindset to go with his attacking weapons. From memory his kicking is the worst part of his package but Esava was awful and he turned that around with practice. Worth a try.

So Henderson in Buzza out. Stanley left in the role he is holding and doing well now (and we were begging for a competitive ruckman a little while back).
We would go in with one tall, two mid size (Menz/Cameri and Henry) and three smalls. Blicavs may even be able to pinch hit in ruck while Stanley rests with Henderson back.

Doesn't look nearly as good as Esava and Hawkins, one mid size and three smalls with Henry steady in defence, but that's the hand we have been dealt again.

Henry is not good enough kick.. he struggles for distance..he would need to take marks within 35M from goal. Marking is natural thing for him but the kicking is something he will have to work on

Yep, Hendo in, Henry forward. I’d like to see that.

And if Esava gets back, I guarantee Henry will take a Fogarty or Jones role easily.

He is not just a great mark, but he’s fast. Watch training sprints of Parfitt (who is fast) and Henry, and Henry smokes him. The kid can play wing, backline and forward. He also played ruck in the juniors...

Disclaimer: he’s one of my favourite players.

Henry should not go forward. He's developing into a quality back so there's no need to mess him around to fit other players into the side. His form warrants him holding his spot. If any of the backs were to go out for Hendo it would be Kolo but even then he'd be unlucky. We've moved a lot of players around and besides Blitz going back I don't think any of the other moves have worked. It's time to leave players where they're best suited and have guys playing for spots rather than fitting them in just because.

The top sides are all predictable with a set game plan, set positions, settled team. Something we haven't had for years.

He can’t take an overhead mark playing loose as a ruck. Imagine how he’d go with a defender on him.
Can't or doesn't? Has taken some good marks before, has all the attributes. I don't see why we should take such an accommodating approach - just do what the team needs or get out of the way.

Henderson looks like he's in. So the options appear to be:

1. Leave the current ruck setup (golly gosh Buzza gets the biggest of reprieves), Hendo back, Henry goes forward
2. Hendo replaces Blicavs who moves up the ground
3. Smith replaces Buzza, Stanley spends more time forward

This all assumes Harry doesn't play.

Can't say I'm thrilled with any option but I am quite keen to see Henry forward.

This has also got Murdoch in written all over it. He could replace Simpson. Personally, I'd prefer to get a look at Constable.

Agreed

Henry has been good but he is getting a bit tired and needs to work on his disposal. Don't mind him or Kolo going back to the VFL. Don't want him up forward.

Buzza isn't AFL standard so he has to come out. The only options I see is either Smith or Abbott come in until Taylor is back.

The question is whether to keep Stanley as no1 ruck or have him be no2 ruck. Given his form I dont mind him staying as no1 ruck and having Smith or Abbott being no2 (even though both arent really forwards). At least it keeps the structures settled.

Certainly dont want Henry/Henderson up forward and then having mids in the ruck.

Does Menzel go back to the reserves this week? I feel that he should, but suspect that he won't.

I think they'll prefer to play him into form in the Seniors

Pretty sure i read somewhere before his last comeback that Menzel had a clause in his contract about VFL matches, if thats true then i wouldn't expect to see him in the VFL again this year.
Wasn't that something to the effect that he doesn't get match payments for reserves games?
