Jesus he has been one of our best this year.
Have some of you people had a concussion and can't remember anything before June?

Really, I wouldn't say anywhere near our best players. I'd say he's been good but he's nowhere near the bests. To me Sinclair, Crouch, Gresham, Ross, Steele, Wilkie, King, Battle are probably my bests. Stats insider has him between Butler and Howard.

I’m a patient person and have given Hill a chance but let’s face it, he’s been dreadfully disappointing since he joined.

They should sit him down Clockwork Orange style and make him watch Ed Langdon play.

Having said that, he had played under Clarko and Ross Lyon previously: two coaches that know how to get the most out of their players.

He could be one of the many players who either doesn’t develop as they should or even gets worse playing their footy at the St Kilda Football Club.
I agree in part. I wouldn't say dreadfully disappointing. I'm just asking for him to be more consistant.
From the 3 games I've seen live he seems to spend most of his time off the HBF. I would like to see him on the wing again
I think you already know my thoughts regarding coaching.
I think it was partly Clarko and Lyon and partly the quality of the players he had around him that got the best out of him.

They also have him listed as a midfielder despite him playing half back since last year (and a few rounds at half fwd) so it might not be the best source for measuring players performance.

I haven't been reading BF for a couple of weeks, so apologies if this is totally Sandra Sully. I know that people have talked about our failures in big games this year, but I don't know if anyone's posted the stats. I had a look at our draw and compared On Broadway games to Off Broadway.

On Broadway = Friday night and Saturday night.
Off Broadway = afternoon and twilight games.

Our record so far this year.

On Broadway - 3W 7L
Off Broadway - 6W 1 L

(I counted the Cairns games as on broadway, but was that televised on Fox? If so, it's arguably off broadway).

So, anyway we're off broadway this week. 10 goal win.

Agree. If you were listing them in order I'd move Battle up a few places. The list is pretty spot on though.

I reckon that's about exactly where I would have him but Butler is a lot higher than expected. Where do you think he sits this year?

Based on that list, I'd have him above Membrey, Marshall and Ryder. I'm guessing it measures off previous years because those 3 haven't reached the same heights this year and Ross is too low if it is only this year. Also strange they have Hill's ranking as going backwards because I think most would say this has been his best year for the club so far, so his ranking going backwards doesn't match his output improving. If they had Hill correct labeled and measured as a half back, I think he would be higher on that list and his rating wouldn't be declining.

Higgins is hard to place because of the games missed and him struggling to recapture his best form since returning from the concussions but you could mount an argument that while Higgins best has been better, Hill is putting together a better overall season.

Pretty much all that's left this year is the HANNERS Dream...yet again!

HANNERS comes in this week! Yey! Miraculously plays the next 9 or 10 games in a row this year, winning and playing in each one. He becomes the embodiment of the spark we have lacked for many years... He's on fire!! We're on fire!!

Does a calf in the dying minutes of the 2022 GF but Victory is in the proverbial bag by that stage. I'm blubbering through my tears of relief, "What ever his contract has been worth over the last dismal injury ridden years...divided by just these 10 appearances alone this year.........worth every cent invested per game." A visionary stroke of faith in genius by LETHERS

Then I woke up! Realised my tears of joy ...simply one of my kids left the bath plug in upstairs and waters pissing through the vent! I'm instantly deflated, wet and in need of a nappy change. Return to situation normal.....you have to be a saint to stay a SAINT.

The Dream...... diet of despondency!

That's an expensive show of faith in a team that doesn't reward us very often.
Have been to every interstate game this year and will be at every game until the end of the year.

I respect others analytical views however hate all the negativity. I remain extremely positive in all aspects of life and always support the team.

While they have let me down regularly over the last 50+ years I love my footy club and I know they will one day prevail.

Go Saints.

Jones' only option is to play at Sandringham right now so it might be worth a roll of the dice.
I think of you publicly bake someone you give them one more chance. If he fails that’s it for the season. I don’t see the point of doing it and then dropping him to sandy where he will obviously dominate.

Bradley Hill has been a bit of a disappointment for me. The difference between his best performance and his worst performance is far too great. That's not what you expect from your senior experienced players. He's got a few mates in the same boat though.

Since the bye, losing games has not been the main issue for me. All teams lose games in the course of a season. It's how we lose that irks me. Letting another team totally dominate you shouldn't happen when you've got a competitive list.
Hope there's a better showing this week but this team has burnt me too many times so I'm not holding my breath.
He had 11 touches 0 tackles against the dogs for our highest paid player he goes missing to often it’s a pity the coach didn’t call him out like he did with Jones

What's a fantastic way to support the club. I hope we get a great win for you over there.

Bang on P66. The VFL comp standard has gone down the toilet since the Pandemic so sending a player like Jones back to Sandy just for punishment is counter-productive.

His numbers definitely look better this year. I don't feel like his impact per possession is particularly high. I guess that's how I see Billings too, a lot of one, two short passes and low hurt factor touches. Perhaps that's sort of shown in their formula where they measure contested possession higher and inside 50s etc.

I'm just pleased that he's actually looking like another close enough to A grade player. He looked a really bad investment the last two years. I'd like to try him out of the backline at some point. I'm old school I like to attack first and defend second. It's easier to defend from attack than stand in front of the tank.

Also why I'm struggling to understand how Ratts and the coaches aren't getting us into the top 8. The side has made huge strides in player output. If Hill's around your 8th to 10th best player and guys like Billings are now outside that. I know Jack's not highly rated on here but his recent games have been good. We have guys like Battle rated 15th on the list and McKenzie and Wood outside the best 18. We should be competitive with anyone and we are sometimes.

Good on you. I respect that commitment.

I looked through his numbers this year and he's definitely got a very solid form line this year. He's really only had 4 games below 15 possessions and had 7 over 25 possession games. 3 of them 30 or above which is very good for a HBF.

Maybe he was tagged so didn't cop it from the coaches? I think that's probably why Sincs then gets 36 touches and probably why they don't want to break them up. I'd still try Jones back and Sincs in the mids. Jones was a pretty handy HBF at Sydney. You lose some quality in ball use off HB but if you have him play within his limitations that might be better because the defence will be less pressured.

You could give him another go off a HBF.

Never been to an interstate game and dropping my Melbourne home attendances down to 3 next year.
Do you know you can get a 3 game membership plus 12 months Kayo for $300?
That will save me close to a $1k. Should we keep paying these fraud players and a club that never learns from its vast array of mistakes?
Record 58k members? Saviour that as we won't get back there for a long while.

Think Hill has got to stop trying to be classy smart arsey, go back to being the player we need with the run and carry, with penetrating quicks into the forward line.
When he tries those pretty little 20mt kicks, they very rarely are successful, usually kicking into an oppo player.
Time to get on your bike again Hilly & show your class.
