Since 2015, got restricted in 2020, full, in a couple. Applied in 1996. My daughter got it at the same time, and we have signed up the grandchild so he will get it around 20 ish
Are you sure that’s right? My daughter was down in 1995 and has been restricted since 2015. She still has 3 or 4 years to go. I might need to check. Have you paid your full fee that you have to pay once you are a full member? My mate says you should pay it early as it goes up every year but once paid that’s what you pay. If you haven’t your first year will be close to 2k.

My best mate signed my one year old up on the weekend as his birthday present. He showed me the release.
Must be new. My mate is in membership. Has been for 30 years. I haven’t spoken to him about memberships for a while. He did say they were doing things to quicken up membership. That must be one of them. Not sure how it would work. Maybe they look a persons history and if they never go they introduce another member. He said something like 30% never use their membership which is mamazing. I suppose it’s prestige

No haven't paid the full fee. Can't remember but as a provisional you needed to pay $900 joining then the fee. Paid that over a number of years then there is an intake for Restricted. Depends on when the application date was made. I missed out by a month or so of being in an earlier restricted intake. I haven't looked when I will be a full member. By the time I am about to die I suppose

I work for a membership organisation that has 170k members and I can guarantee you 75% have it for the professional designation only. $750 for membership a year (paid for their business usually), however we don't need to sell seats on a weekly basis.

I think they are starting to implement a usage rule that is designed to revoke (or minimise) oldies holding their memberships and never using them.
They culled a heap just before they introduced Provisional membership (which was mainly a way to get $$$ out of people on the waiting list by letting them go to low drawing events).

I nominated 98, got provisional in 2017 & restricted last year. At least that gives me some decent days at the cricket now.

Full memberships in a couple years enjoy camping outside the G

Wont be doing that. Currently don't even book a ticket at the G, just show my membership, wander about level 1 or 4 until halftime then go up to level 2, nobody checks the tickets and get a great view for the second half.

Provisional works fine for me considering the saints never draw crowds of over 30k anyways.

Do the Jim Stynes grill sometime. I just found out there’s no limit to how many times you can apply each season. Just have to get lucky with the ballot. Great view and you can always head down to general reserve after eating

At the moment for the grand final half are walk ups half are ballot. Stuart fox wants to make it all ballot but the older workers aren’t happy with that. It will eventually happen especially if fox stays. Might happen soon.

Would love nothing more than to bounce back this week and absolutely destroy this lot in WA for the last twelve years of pain and suffering they've dealt to us over here. If we actually want to set a standard for the rest of the year we need to go into this looking for a 40+ point win at least.

Have been to every interstate game this year and will be at every game until the end of the year.

I respect others analytical views however hate all the negativity. I remain extremely positive in all aspects of life and always support the team.

While they have let me down regularly over the last 50+ years I love my footy club and I know they will one day prevail.

Go Saints.
Are you a life coach?

Well done remaining only positive in the face of supporting the saints, I can’t do that. I, personally, feel that you can’t enjoy a roller coaster if you only go up or flat.

Pretty sure our aim in to go quick which is why hill and sinclair play off half back. Don’t confuse going slow being the game plan. It certainly wasn’t when we were winning. The problem is they have lost confidence. Don’t ask me why. Well I know now because of results but no idea why it started. Can only guess it was the combination of losing Steele and the rucks losing form. We have enough pace off half back. I hope they give jones one more chance in the ones and where has been playing. If he fails then off he goes. Let’s face it if we beat west coast however we line up we aren’t beating anyone else.

I don't think we were quick even when we were winning. We seem to take way to long to transition. Ratts has used slow play all last season and he hasn't exactly flicked the switch. We took until the last quarter last week to move quickly. A big part of it is that we can't win clearance and even when we do we don't go forward with speed or purpose. The way Dunstan controlled the midfield late last year changed our style. Perhaps we need to trade a dominant inside mid in. Steele and the rucks definitely corresponded with our collapse.

Yes it would be good to have them spitting chips (perhaps the ones off their shoulders) for once. Having lived there for a while they really don’t like opposition supporters. Not in an overly aggressive way, just ins silence and booing way. Which works great on the umpires, I mean is great home ground advantage “atmosphere” that lifts them 24-10 free kicks, I mean a couple of notches…

Well I will go with nath Buckley assessment on the transistor and he said when we play our best we go quick through sinclair and hill and try to play down the middle as much as we can but that doesn’t mean you mainly play down the middle. No side does. Every side has more kicks on the wings than through the middle. I think he has a better idea than all of us but just my opinion. And that’s how it looked to me in our best wins this year.

Seems pretty obvious to me why. They’re just super fragile individually and have no leadership as a group.

Consistency of effort comes from having enough resilience to get through the inevitable down patches. Resilience in a group comes from the leaders supporting the guys who are down, whether that’s by cuddling them or kicking their arses.

We clearly don’t have that, just like all the other poor teams over the decades.

I know a couple of guys who were full members at 18. They had very well-connected dads - it’s not a democracy down at the MCC.

That wasn't abnormal 25 years ago. You'd get it at about 18 to 20 if they put you down as a kid. It seems to have drawn out as more people rushed to it. I've never bothered, I only watch footy and never been a cricket fan other than casually. Having a dside that plays 2 games a year there it isn't worth it. Lots of mates had memberships and corporate boxes so just went with them. campaigners all have families now, which is very inconvenient.
