I am moved to have one last try at writing to you, given you have studiously ignored my previous entreaties and instead it seems wantonly and deliberately taunted me by continuing in the same vein, as a sort of two finger salute towards my simple request to stop giving me heart failure and just for once ******* win by four goals or so. Nothing extreme I would have thought. But no.

After this latest unnecessarily tight win I sit here exhausted. The household have all given up on me and fled. Unbelievable.Ten big ones in a row.Don’t know if I can stand anymore of these close finishes though.When you consider the injuries we had,losing Howe and Adams during the game,and not having Mihocek at all,it was a very meritorious win.

The only down side was the umpiring,which was a joke yet again,You can’t go by the actual free kick count.What tells the real story,is where those free kicks are given and what an impact they had on the game.By that measure,Port we’re gifted a number of goals they didn’t deserve.The umpires nearly pulled it out for them.

23 points up early in the last qtr I thought to myself "Wouldn't it be nice to win this by 5 or 6 goals and relax with a quiet beer". I knew of course that this was never going to happen and so braced myself for a "Collingwood Sleepy Time" 15 minute period of allowing Port back into the contest. And, wouldn't you know it, this is what happened.

6 pts up with 61 seconds remaining. More than enough time for a draw or some kind of heart breaking 1 point loss perhaps with a freak 7 point play as they say. But!! Wait!! Instead of pacing around the room gripping on what is left of hair on top of my head I was super confident that we would hold on to that rock solid 6 point lead. So much so that I sat on my couch sipping on that quiet beer in full relaxation mode.

The Mighty Pies once again held on! And all is calm in the world.

Why are we so unfairly umpired? We get the absolute bullshit free kicks that mean NOTHING but when they’re do blatantly inside our forward 50 they’re not paid. It’s ****ing so blatantly obvious it disgusts me. But as soon as a ticky touch wood free is there for the oppo in their forward 50 it’s paid. That and other non frees such as the holding the ball free that wasn’t paid and they went on and scored and started their run on. It’s getting boring and frustrating seeing this week in week out, year after year after year. The AFL hate us. Add to that the double standard of umpiring on display for head high. No need to mention what incidents that was today. Happy for the win but **** we always do it the hard way and it’s not always our fault.
