Pretty good game and we played it out until the last minute. Dees deserved that win and deserve their place in the top four. Hustwaite with two debut game goals was fantastic. Considering the big outs it was a stunning game from the boys, and can’t wait to see where the team goes in the next few seasons. Before that let’s beat a shaky Freo for 8 season wins.

Our game plan of keeping’s off was brilliant by Mitchell.

Dees were coming hard at us creating space out the back.

Second half Dees held their shape so much better and when we tried a dangerous attacking kick they swooped and turned it into opportunities.

Melksham loves the Hawks including Box Hill Hawks. I wish Blanck or someone accidentally would flatten him.

May treated Koschitzke with contempt. I love what Kosi brings as the third forward/ruck but as the main man it was hard to watch.

Ramsden also struggled to keep Lever accountable, then I believe we tried Scrimshaw in the fourth? We really needed someone like Ryan to threaten aerially.

DGB torched Tomlinson especially in the second. Ran out of puff - he always does - but really liking his performances the last two weeks. A lot to build on.

May treats everyone he is on with contempt, he is the premier key defender imo.

It was always going to be a struggle with our young forwards against their established key backs but very pleased with DGB and didn't think Ramma was too bad while he was on.

CHFs have to be almost the fittest player on your list though with the kms they need to cover (think Mitch Lewis or Brody Mihoceck).

DGB will have to improve his aerobic capacity by a heck of a lot as he is probably currently our worst aerobic athlete on the list.

Blanck is going to have to learn to lose that push after the mark. did it several times after getting penalised.

You could see he was conscious of it and pulled up before contact a few times after he gave away the fifty

I reckon he can be our Naughton but need him playing 3rd tall rather than CHF . Swing back if needed and provide contests if not impacting the scoreboard
Would give us huge flexibility with Lewis and then hopefully a genuine CHF or FF

I think he will improve with a bullet over the next 12 months

Penandpaper said as much, May would have done the same even if up against Lewis. And if by some miracle Lewis took care of May, Lever would have carved us up anyway. They have quality intercept defenders. We need a partner for Siclily. Don’t get me started on Melksham
