Superb first quarter. Good last quarter.

The middle two quarters were pretty terrible - but Richmond deserve some credit for not letting us get into a rhythm. Hopefully that's a learning experience for Mitchell and the players, so they can work out what to change up when the opposition is shutting us down.

If you told me at the start of the game we'd have won by 11 goals, and had nearly 40 shots on goal I'd have been happy. But given we were 50 points up at quarter time it was a bit disappointing in the end.

The injuries to Day and Scrimshaw are shattering, they have been two of our top five players this season. Edit: seems that it's been the best case scenario for us.

I had hoped Mackenzie would be more involved, especially with Day being subbed out early.

Sicily, Weddle, Ginnivan and Nash all had poor or quiet games too.

Newcombe, Worpel, D'Ambrosio, Gunston, Scrimshaw, Moore, Dear (goal kicking aside), Watson, Amon, Frost and Hardwick were all great. Chol was too selfless at times.

First quarter amazing then were beaten for the ball and totally in the air quarters 2/3. Last quarter was pure junk time. We didn’t try to defend as needed. I can’t recall seeing a single attempt to spoil in that time certainly there would have been very few. But that’s ok got the win lessons to learn would have been a satisfactory Sunday except for the Day injury. Fingers and toes crossed.

Glad we won and 60 points is a good margin, but would be lying if I said that there weren't parts of that game that were frustrating. Also can't get over Day, poor bloke can't take a trick.

Shattered for Day . Important we quickly reset now . Massive opportunity in an even comp .
Reckon Scrim will be OK.

Loved how we put them to sleep early. Yes was frustrating after but a 10 goal win is nothing to sneeze at .

We need to repeat this next week . Get North out of there early .

Dear must get the RS now . Way too much body of work to be ignored now

Good win at end of day.
If any team is going to need that week's break before finals we certainly do.
No matter how fit and how much momentum we've had behind us, it must have taken a shitload out of the players since bye.
Let's get North done and get too it.

My thoughts are as below

. Shocking game to watch. Wouldn't have beaten a half decent side
. Ginnivan has been poor for a few weeks
. Sicily is a good player but when he has a stinker, he really has a stinker!
. Watson. Played well but should have had a couple more. Still needs huge work on his kicking.
. Mabior was awful but he was overdue for one.
Amon and Mass were the cool heads we needed. Both were fantastic

Fingers crossed Day can play again this season. Our midfield really needs him for finals
Newcombe and Scrimshaw hopefully ok too.
Just on your thoughts:

  1. Can't compare these sorts of games with a hypothetical - we would have played differently vs a decent side.
  2. Ginniyan has been fine, in fact, I feel he is more willing to play the team game vs getting runs on the board.
  3. Sicily is injured....
  4. Would like to know what specifically you mean about 'needs work on kicking' - if at goal, other than the one shot, all of them were easily explained by pressure
  5. Mabior was great other than his shots on goal (and they weren't 45 out directly in front).

Just got to the car from the game. Really should have won by more. Big win but after quarter time there were some periods where it looked like we were just screwing around.

Anyway, important 4 points and still improved our percentage.

Daughter needed the toilet so I missed what happened to Day, any light shed on that yet?
