No no no no no do not bring in Hickey.

**** me dead calling for paddy to be dropped after 3 poor games with shit house delivery but persist with Bruce who has had 3 years of being hopeless? Because he can also go into the ruck and be hopeless there too?

Talk about encouraging mediocrity.
Out with the old in with the new. Time for change.

Bruce has kicked 134 goals in three years so he's not that bad. Paddy hasn't really performed yet. He might but we can't persist with the two tall marking forwards and membrey so we might have to accept losses then.

Didnt know plugger was drafted at Number 1 and was a paid full time AFL player?

i think we persist with Paddy, but 1 goal in 3 games isnt very good for a forward.
This is it. Had two gettable chances and missed. Take your chances

Sunny, you’re the resident numbers man.
Dard Ball get...you took the words right out of my mouth....lol.

Sunny.......meant to ask you this last week........I'm pretty sure that I saw the words..."Seaford write down" mentioned in the last 2 P & L's.

Just off the top....can you recall how much the write downs for Seaford have contributed to our $10 Mill debt?

If they play Acres 90% of the game in the midfield he will be our marquee player!!!
It didn't help last night that Membrey was out, as that meant that Acres effectively ended up the one who replaced him in our structure up forward, at times playing deepest forward, as he's done s fair bit in the last couple of years.

Noticed him in the guts once or twice later in the game though.

As I've said previously. I think the thing that stops us playing him in the guts more is the fact he's not naturally good at winning clearances. Thought thecrole he played in R1 really suited him (wing and pushing forward), but that meant that Sincs got pushed off the wing and into the forward line and then everyone complained about that.

Then last night Sincs started on the wing and began like a house on fire, but then when Coffield came on he took his spot on the wing and Sincs was moved forward and was less effective after that, but Coff went well on the wing.

The only problem with the develop at Sandringham theory is that the service for forwards there is even worse than at St Kilda.
Mostly kick and hope.
(Actually, more kick and hope).
I’m not sure that will help him learn his craft.
Sandringham would be more useful if he is playing without confidence, conditioning or effort.
I’ve seen that from him this year, but I’ve also seen improvements over the three weeks.
Disclaimer: I’m very much in the play him at AFL level irrespective faction. We need to see his upside in AFL match conditions. If he proves to be wanting, so be it. Playing Paddy is not going to make any difference for finals this year anyway. But may make a difference for the future. Besides I watched T Boyd in the twos yesterday. He didn’t show anything that would warrant a recall to the Bulldogs and I doubt they’d disagree.

Brent Harvey was saying Victorian forwards are hard to select accurately because they can't zone in defence in TAC. He singled Paddy out as being very good one on one and can easily beat his man at that level. He said it doesn't always tell you how they will go at AFL level. I reckon he's more likely to get one on ones there and might get his confidence up playing VFL.

And yes Einstein Paddy should be able to take pack marks. Let me boot the ball in the air and have 2-3 people crash into and see how many you pluck or kick it 5 meters away from you and hope you go fetch...
It's fairly obvious that plugger66's lack of pack marking ability is what is holding us back.

Lift please plugger.

Yep, we ave a really unbalanced side. Three tall marking forwards, a glut of half backs with out pace, inside mids that don't win a lot of their own ball. We need Neil Balme or his type to get some direction on list management, team selection, coaching structures across the levels etc.

A write down adds zero to your debts just contributes to the P&L non cash expenditure and assets on the Balance Sheet

Having watched Sandringham yesterday (a half and a bit) and the game last night, I’m leaning this way:

Ins:
Hickey (his best game for over a year)
Steele (played inside mid all day and got 40 possessions)
Battle (great game yesterday, will clearly play AFL this year)

Outs:
Armitage (needs to get some match fitness again and his leadership is not enough to keep him safe)
Bruce (needs to rediscover his marking skills and confidence, no problem with his efforts)
Wright (understand why he was selected but nit really first 22)

***
Marshall to play CHF/FF with Paddy.
Hickey is the ruck, Marshall as his relief.
Battle to fill the Membrey role (assuming he is still injured)

Marshall/Paddy/Battle will still get crucified if we cannot fix the forward delivery but at least it changes up the team.

No other changes, three is enough for this week.
Everyone else on notice though.
Future changes entirely possible but really dependant on performance at Sandringham now.
Yep.
Best performed rewarded with promotion. I'd add Phillips for Newnes as well.

What’s with the hate in here on Webster? Christ has anyone watched Newnes game? He’s embarrassing. His first 5 disposals were out on the full, 3 kicks smothered and a handball smothered. He is dishing up absolute garbage and should be the first one shown the door. I agree the delivery to the forward line is garbage but when Paddy and Bruce drop marks and miss goals they are paid to get then I’m not surprised some supporters go to town on them. Battle needs to be given a chance. Also, what happened to Billings getting a run in the middle? Why can’t richo try something? Carlisle forward, Gresham, Billings in the middle. Webster to a wing. Change it up man!!!

Webster has been one of our best players this year so far. Your post is laughable to be honest and suggests you haven't got a clue. Sorry to sound harsh but you're obviously focusing on him and have made your mind up but you should really just save your breath because there is no way they are dropping Webster right now and to be honest I'm glad of it.
Just because hes been racking up a few touches doesn’t mean he’s been one of our best players his decision making and ball use is not afl standard same as Newnes players like him Newnes and Armitage are holding us back and should be replaced

Let me guess, you were shocked that Koby Stevens was dropped.

So why is he having a crack at a bloke if he has never had a gang of AFL defenders work on shutting you down?

Two can argue your comment. The point is that the issue with us is up the field and not on forwards who we can't even give them an advantage when passing them the ball
Pretty sure you don’t need to have played AFL to have an opinion mate. Paddy has been poor, not our worst but I think the most important thing is that he’s getting some continuity.

Webster is going
Ironically I swear that was Webster's strength when he first started....
better than Roberton. What’s happen to him? Not judging/intercepting like he was in previous years. Too many guys who were improving have gone backwards at a rate of knots. I think that’s why some in here are focusing on richo but I think it rots at the head. Our drafting hasn’t been great or least hasn’t reaped any rewards yet. I’m hoping that the coffield/Clark picks will rectify that. What’s happened to McKenzie, I thought he was going to be player but went backwards last year and now is totally off the radar.

I don't think he's much chance of being dropped either but that north game was possibly the worst 30 possession game I can recall - there's no point racking up rebound 50's if the ball is going straight back over your head for a goal. I would much prefer we get the ball into Roberton or Savages hand than see Webster rack up 20-30 touches.

Our main back 6
Geary, Brown, Roberton, Carlisle, Webster, Sav

I actually think our back 6 have held up pretty well given our lack of clearances & contested ball, but especially our turnovers & skill errors. Much bigger problems in midfield and forwards. I agree our team defence is poor, but that is not as much to do with the back 6 in my opinion

He’s first qtr/half was good. Had a poor 2nd half but surely Newnes before Webster. Ha ha, I’m anti Newnes at the moment, if that ain’t half obvious.

Has many wanted paddy dropped? I haven’t read that. I didn’t want Bruce in the side in round one but probably luckily he played.
