That first half tactic of kicking long to a 50/50 contest to half forward, while the pies played the run and carry tactic with numbers around the ball was frustrating dumb football.
Once we started to run and handball more after half time everything began to click.
Simply couldn’t match their numbers around contests once the ball hit the ground.
Still confident we’ll come good at the pointy end.
Go Tigs

Good call, but that would also mean we need to introduce young players. I've worked in these situations in pretty high pressure jobs (not football)and old stalwarts dont like being told what to do by youngsters. Rumours are Deledio was like that. We are in transition. Hopefully it was just a bad night, but geeze we looked bad at times and the scoreboard flattered us.

I'm glass half full that the coaching committee will now be humble enough to realise we need a more dynamic team selection and stop hoping that 'our best' comes to play each week.. don't go kamikaze with playing the kids, but don't go arrogant with 3 talls and rewarding players because they won a flag years ago

"Yeah, look. Credit to the Pies, they're a good side and they'll play finals. We identified some areas today that we need to work on and made some mistakes that we normally wouldn't so we'll work on these during the week and learn from them going forward."

Same old line from Dimma, bookmark it. He'll spout on about learning from mistakes and working on things, but nothing will change.

How many times at the contest did we get it forward only for the Pies to release out the backdoor and then handball over the top of all of our stoppage players?

Our midfield is so slow and we now have the opposite problem to last year, where we can win clearances but they're ineffective and under pressure.

A lot of tuning to do.

Game went as I thought it would. We got smashed around the ball because we replaced two contested beasts in Dusty and Hopper with outside runners — and yet we still looked slow.
We are old and slow.

Dimma can't keep persisting with the old firm all year, they are not the players they were.

How ****ed is it we recruit to sort clearances
Now we have a one paced midfield
Sonsie must come in

we're not winning the flag with Cotchin,Taranto,Prestia,Graham types all in the same 22,we just dont have enough outside run if we play all those guys together unfortunately
so we gotta bite the bullet & play for the future,Clarke,HRS,Banks,Sonsie and Gibcus when fit,we gotta play these guys as much as possible from now on
same goes for Ryan when its appropriate and Cumberland,he needs to play every week to
