Thought ruscoe was great.
Everyone loses contests.
But he won more than he lost and his disposal was good.

If he’s the 26-28 player coming in…..we’re in good shape.

Here is a big question…..does he keep his place over IQ next week?
I think we will continue to see competition for spots as players return which is a good thing.
It maybe that IQ/Maynard, are given a new role eg midfield next year, if Ruscoe can hold down HBF.

Nah he had issues with Leigh Matthews. Leigh just didn't like him. I don't know what the issue was.
Aussie Pie is correct. Taylor was poor and cooked in 1990 and was never in strong consideration for the GF. Taylor had a falling out with some players and Matthews during the 199p season due to him writing a book/ season diary and its excerpts were published in the HS

Yeah ok then.

How convenient we had a tall on the sub bench
Watch the replay, he got subbed off a minute after he dropped an absolute sitter yet again, on top of all the frees he gave away with his unrealistic attempts.
Had nothing to do with fitness.

I'm not writing him off but everything Kreuger did today was as putrid as it gets.

He was subbed out after dropping that absolute sitter. I can't see him playing next week with Murphy coming back in. Will Kelly has done enough to stay as a sub.

Collingwood selects for structure. I expect Kreuger to stay i until cox is back. That relieves Johnson of having to ruck.

Kelly was good but unless he has a role in our best 22 then he might have to go back to the 2nds

Sitting there watching us, particularly in that 3rd quarter, you wouldn't have imagined that last quarter blitz. Then again we are the comeback kings, so shouldn't have doubted us to blow Essendoom away in 30 mins of footy.....absolutely brilliant!!!....

The day in totality was brilliant, with beautiful weather, fantastic pre game ceremony, with the national anthems of both Aus and NZ sung brilliantly, had goosebumps....

Then to see that quality of game, particularly in the second half, was a fantastic way to honour the day for all those who have and are currently serving. The icing on the cake for me was the Moore speech after the game. To have this fantastic athlete and person captaining our club, you couldn't be prouder.

Naicos getting the medal, the legend continues. He broke the game apart with his two last quarter goals. I think he may just win everything this year, in his 2nd year!!

Shoutout to Billy Frampton, thank god we have Billy. He has been a revelation, in any position he plays. Whether its down back, ruck and showed today he can also play forward. He has been a terrific addition. Hope Kane Cornes gives him an apology during the week.....

Couldn't agree more. Ive been to just about all of them including the first one when Bucks decided to pass to Rocca instead of going for goal, and the ride today was exquisite!
Darcy Moore B.O.G. in the first half and yes, terrific post game speech.
Ash Johnson's last q goal 😳 🥰.
Krueger was SO close to mark of the year.
Trip down from Sunshine Coast worth every cent.
Go you beautiful Pies!

Nah think they are all HBF.
But IQ was again fumbly and not damaging at all….

So with Murphy coming back in, do they drop Ruscoe? Or IQ?
IQ has hardly set the world on fire and for every possession he has had, he’s had two fumbles before it!!

He seems to be given a pass to date….

Correct weight, I'm happy to admit I didn't expect Kelly to perform so well whatsoever but some of it had to do with the bloke he replaced being an absolute lialbiilty.

Watching replay. I wonder what the pressure rating for the last quarter would have been for us? Record levels?

On another note:
So glad we stopped the Presty ‘35’ tradition and Nick has kept the number.
I think I heard them say 206 after the game on Fox, but not sure

It's foolish to write this team off, especially after what we witnessed last year.

I had a gut feeling we'd comeback hard in the final quarter, but it would be left until the dying stages to pinch it. It's crazy we took the lead with still 7 minutes remaining in the final quarter.

Umpiring didn't help us, but Essendon were mostly the better side for the first three quarters so it's something Fly and co will have to get to work on and analyse in depth.

Nick Daicos is made for the big stage. I've never seen a player as young as him burst onto the scene and look so mature and composed at his age. Pendles is probably the last one I can think of from our side.

Frampton is underrated. He can ruck and play multiple positions without any issue. Due to Cox and Cameron's injuries, he's arguably become our most important recruit of the off season. Credit to him for filling the void as well as he has so far.

McCreery was a relentless machine in the last quarter. That burst of pace and the determination to hurt the opposition is invaluable. He was a real game changer for us.

Shoutout to Ruscoe and Kelly who held up well in the final quarter. A lot of pressure was on them in the final quarter, but they defended the D50 well. It deserves some acknowledgement.

5-day turnaround against the Crows will be tough, but morale is high so you can never write us off.

IF teams are going to flood back against us, we need a plan to chip it around F50 to a player who can kick a goal from 50m+
AJ, JDG are 2 in particular. And I think IQ should practice how to kick them from 50 on the run (he had a shot like this that fell a little short - something that he would kick if he practiced it more.). And while Im not totally sold on Carmy, this could be one way that he really brings something to team, by providing another avenue to goal

Krueger is just rusty and still regaining match fitness. That was a hell of a game for him to get dropped into so soon after a long stint on the sidelines. I'm sure he'll improve as he gets fitter and gets his touch back. At least he's made it through the past two games without getting injured again.

Pendles was brilliant again tonight. Never rushed, always silky, a steady presence for the team.

Hope his eye is OK, starlight to the specialist with a bleeding eye. Thought it was a thumb in the eye when it happened 🙏🏼
It’s bizarre isn’t it.
Why don’t players rush him?
It’s been the same forever.
He just seems to do nothing and everyone backs off….
Not complaining. Just weird.

One of my Essendon mates keeps saying to me “you have no idea how lucky you are to have him”….each week I think of that!
