For emphasis: 2 home Prelims, a tribute game to the club’s recently-departed GOAT, and an utter capitulation to the then 13th-placed side — who as many have said, will no doubt cite that game and the resultant belief/unity/confidence imbued, as the baseline rocketship for their premiership should they win on Saturday (joining a handful of clubs who already reference their “FaMoUs WiN oVeR tHeRe” as such in recent years).

And the above list obviously doesn’t include the away Showdown of 2017, when the ladder-leading Crows obliterated the 5th-placed Power by 84 points — which could’ve honestly been a 150pt result or worse, given the astronomical 81-31 (-50) discrepancy in inside50’s.

To put that gap into perspective, the back-to-back smashings of a mentally, physically and financially nuked Baby Power in 2011 ‘only’ saw Port lose the i50 count by 73-35 (-38) vs Collingwood, and 68-29 (-39) vs Hawthorn.

And we’re sat here facing the prospect of yet another year with this bloke at the wheel!

Imagine that Hinkley had arrived only in 2020. Forget 2013 to 2019.

That’s four Finals in 5 years; four top-3 finishes; 1 Minor Premiership.

He still should be sacked.

I couldn’t care less about “Hardwick won it in his 7th season”. I wouldn’t even buy the “it took 5 seasons for Choco.”

Hardwick went through a soul-changing process before starting the dynasty. (Hinkley would never do that.) Even though Choco’s CV makes 2004 look like an exception, he made the GF both times he had a home PF.

Hinkley cannot coach Finals, period.

I like watching rugby league every now and then. The last time I watched NRL apart from state of origin was back in March. I stay a week there as I’ve got cousins who live in Sydney, and I went to watch the Penrith vs Parramatta as one of my cousins who watches the Eels home and away. Great experience, as it was my first time watching an NRL game live in a stadium, but I don’t have a team that I support..

State of Origin and the NRL Grand Final are the two best sporting spectacles in Australian sport. Absolutely shit on the AFL Grand Final.

An under 8's Aussie rules game would be a better spectacle than anything that sport could ever offer up.

Ken is doing the exit interviews as well as being on leave. He is also getting sacked and coaching here next year. He is also not involved in recruiting and also is bringing in new players. Ken is the mastermind of the game plan and has no input into tactics.

We are all mentally cooked because of this club and it’s “leaders”

I can’t think of anything as comparably ridiculous or absurd in any professional sporting context.

Checked in with the relevant people today after CD's comments. No change from what I said earlier this week.

This will head into next week unless something happens at the Chairman's function tomorrow (which I highly doubt, but it may be an ice breaker to future discussions in the coming days).

Must admit I prefer SOO to any AFL, although two of the games this year were rubbish partly due to send off rule (take note VFL - no send offs). Probably been in the East for too long, also find VFL umpiring infuriating, and penalties for too harsh. 50m penalty (30% length of field) for disagreeing with an umpiring howler like poor Jase, give me a ****ing break. The biggest penalty of any distance in NFL I reckon is 15 yards (15% of field) Even the SANFL has better rules than the VFL. The VFL is run by corrupt amateurs beholden to TV and VIC Govt donors and took steps backwards this season.
