I truly believe that this is all being setup for Ken to announce he is stepping down at the B&F. He will love to make it all about himself and that is the perfect way for the club to make it feel like it is all the supporters fault.
while that would almost be enough to induce me to vomit in my own mouth, if it means he's gone and I can go into 2025 with a feeling of renewal and optimism about my club, I'll live with it.

I'd like to believe you SureBuddy but they need to have critical thinking in order to pull that off. I am afraid, I don't think anyone at the club is capable of that at the moment.

I've never seen evidence that Koch's off field work with sponsors is nothing more to do with the overall growth of the game.

I've asked on this forum a few times and got no response.

I would really like to know because at this point in time, it's a bit murky. I see a move to Adelaide Oval and a new stadium deal, huge TV money coming into the AFL and just about saving every club as the main reasons we are doing well now.

You then have Lockhard Road talking about Koch ruining the China deals and being a petty tyrant.

I see Koch's financial wizardry on par with Hinkley's on field performance. Happy to be wrong.

I like to give credit to a person even if they've done many poor things but I ask and just don't get the response.

Let me put it this way. If Koch or another person went to the 36ers or the NBL and turned that team or league around, I would give that a huge tick of approval.

I agree with you on this. I disagreed on reading between the lines on what Chewy316 writes.

I don't even think he's a good minor round coach. He is just given a group of players with the right draw allows them to make the finals.
Make no mistake if you give Hinkley bottom 8 talent we would finish god motherless last each season.

That was proven when he was given bottom 8 talent in 2013.
Lets stick to facts. Hes shown hes not a GF coach, but he's far from a wooden spoon coach.

Harwick did no better this year

First off, Dew had that franchise and it is a franchise for five and a half seasons and his best season was 12th at 10 wins and 12 loses. In his first year, Hardwick got the Suns to 13th at 11 wins and 12 loses so worse on the ladder overall but one more win.

The thing I liked about Hardwick's year is that he played the young guys and put games into their highly touted rookies as well. It reminds me of Mitchell with the Hawks where he put games into their young guys and got rid of players like O'Meara.

They've already delisted their crappy old players and the young dead wood and are going to palm off guys who don't fit the Hardwick way in Lukosius and Rosas, Jr. to other loser clubs.

It will take a bit of time but they are on the way up.

So, coach reviews are done. The media has moved on to trade week. Davies has moved on to trade week. It's over.

They'll hand us a soft as butter opening draw, we'll be 8 and 4 by the bye and Ken will get his extension before we win just 2 games in the entire back half.
Go Giants!!!

Caro suggesting he’s taking a longer break because the years been hard on him, indicates he will unfortunately be here next year.
If he thought this year was hard, what makes him think next year will be any easier? The intense pressure and scrutiny will be there again from Round 1 and as we all saw in 2024, it affected the bloke significantly.

And if he's worried the Ginnivan incident will now be his legacy as has been said, carrying on next year will only further desecrate any goodwill he's got remaining. I highly doubt Year 13 is going to deliver a positive legacy-defining ending for Ken.

This doesn't get any better for the guy, it only gets worse.

Just walk away man.

If it pans out like that, I'll happily pronounce October 4, 2024 as the best day for the Port Adelaide Football Club since 25 September, 2004.

Happy to see anyone who is playing for Ken Hinkley and not the Port Adelaide Football Club seek trades if he leaves.

The only player who regularly stands up and puts the team on his back in big games is JHF and he's going nowhere. Everyone else falls foul of the Hinkley bedshitting disease. Maybe they can have it coached out of them with a new coach, I hope so anyway.

It's also not like Ken's getting a job anywhere else, unless they want to go and play for the Camperdown B grade.

It's going to be absolutely toxic next year. Booing from round 1, sack Hinkley signs (and I hope others who are still attending join me in this). If the only way to get him out is to make it as uncomfortable as possible, I guess we'll do that.

He won't show his face for 6 months so we won't have a chance between now and then.

If Hinkley were to leave today, each player on our list would be saying, "Ken who?" before Christmas.

As for Dew vs Hinkley, coaching is measured on your ability to win a premiership. Dew did no worse than future HOF coach Damien Hardwick at the Suns. Hinkley has had 12 years with us, maybe nobody could have won a flag with us in that time, but we know with 100% certainty that Hinkley can't.

Yep, it's 100% a narrative that Ken and his manager have circulated. A dithery old man who makes them doubt themselves when it matters and blames them when things go wrong. The players will be energised by a new coach.
