I can't see an annoucement of Ken retiring at the b & f unforunately I think the ken supporters have got their way. But the people against Ken at board level won't leave it at that. I think there could be a compromise and Ken could annouce at the b & f that 2025 will be his last year then he hands over to Josh. That is the more likely outcome

Caro suggesting he’s taking a longer break because the years been hard on him, indicates he will unfortunately be here next year.

Caro has also been buttering us up for him leaving, talking about how difficult coaching is and the toll it takes on him etc. We know she gets her info directly from the Ken/Davies camp, and she has an agenda 100% of the time.

Dew would most likely be in an assistant/support role for Carr which he'd probably be suited why are people potting him?

Dew was a brilliant assistant and it's unlikely he'd uproot his family to be a line coach, so we've obviously offered him something more significant than that. I think the Dew rumours are, as TeeKray said earlier, part of the planning for life after Hinkley.

We've got plans in place both ways, it seems. Given that, it seems insane that they'll let him waste another season of footy when we already know we're moving towards Carr. Just rip the bandaid off.

That's just a massive failure of leadership then because that again is just a complete waste of everyone's time and he won't see out the year anyway in that scenario, so change now.

Vintage will be on first few rounds of 2025 otherwise I reckon I would be there first home game with "sack Hinkley" and would booooooo till I can't boooooooo anymore.

Well known in Vic,if ken goes Butters goes, seeya Butters

Rubbish. Scare tactics from our gutless CEO and some speculation by his cousin's girlfriend's mechanic's dentist's delivery boy. Zak Butters is under contract. He (and every other player) might even find Port more palatable if the team is well-coached.

Yep, it's 100% a narrative that Ken and his manager have circulated. A dithery old man who makes them doubt themselves when it matters and blames them when things go wrong. The players will be energised by a new coach.
I have no doubt that they'll start enjoying their football again. Carr will implement a completely different game plan, and watching Port playing might actually be exciting for the first time since 2014.

No way anything's happening
Something would have leaked by now
Even Chewy's gone silent
I once worked with a press secretary who concocted a rumour that was in no way true, or likely to be true.

He/She leaked it to a journo friend and the story appeared in print a week later. Said press secretary read the piece and actually believed it.

Some of you are like that. You invent your own deadlines and then wonder why nothing happens at that hour. There are very few people in here saying anything with any real knowledge of what is happening. Chewy has some sources, but he has already given us what he can, and doesn't have the full picture. Most of you don't have any of the picture, so it's pointless bemoaning the fact that Donuts wasn't sacked before a deadline you set. He is done this week, this year, mid-next year even, (gulp).

If you want Hinkley out, you can still do more than just hope. Cancel your membership auto-renewal now, and tell them why. Another thousand quitters will further weaken their resolve.

Legit just leaving the heart specialist and some old boy notices my NFL Chiefs hat.

We get talking about QB's and I asked who he supported.

He said he doesn't really want to attach himself to anybody as he's done that with Port Adelaide his whole life.

I said "well hopefully we get some good news this week" he looks at me puzzled... I said "the coach going"

"Ooh I remember what it was like before he got here"

GTFO bloke... seriously.

Again, what good would that do? He's contracted sure. The players will not be invested, because they know it's his last year, Hinkley himself will not be invested, he knows there's no more contract extension. The fans, even Hinkley supporters, know the writing's on the wall and will be booing at every opportunity afforded to them.

The conclusion: you've lost the players, you've lost the majority of the fans and you'll have a coach waiting for his last paycheque.

The only redeeming arc would be if they can get the premiership and that is not happening.

Sack him now or resign now.

I think the argument that Butters et al are wedded to Hinkley is an even bigger reason to sack him now rather than next year when some big names will be coming out of contract.

We need to give the players who have only ever known the cult of Ken a chance to see how much better things could be under a fresh coaching group.

Lets face it, sacking him now implies that the decision makers made the wrong decision, & heaven forbid might have to hold themselves to account.

Plus.....when has Ken EVER put the club or anyone before himself?

We're gonna end up with another year of this
