I just can’t believe they’ve chosen now to pivot to full ‘mask off, saying the quiet part out loud’.

The long-awaited financial position of strength should herald a new phase of raising the bar, taking risks and demanding more in the earnest pursuit of a premiership, not less.

That is also apt for the fact that all competitors are on the podium. It's the classic everyone gets a participation award. It was admitted at the AGM that the players need to be coddled and told they've been successful after perpetually failing in finals which is in effect the same as a participation award. It doesn't matter where we finish the players are told they've been successful. No wonder it's all about work life balance with lifestyle being more important than doing whatever it takes to be truly successful. This is the loser culture of Koch, Davies, Richardson and Hinkley.

I’m responding to calls that the list is significantly weaker because of one player, I’m not saying that Houston isn’t a big loss but it’s also just one player. Many successful teams in the past have lost key players much more important than Houston.

Look at us going into 2004, we lost Nick Steven’s for nothing, and Francou and primus both were lost for the season with injuries. Arguably 3 of our top 5 players from the previous 3 or 4 seasons and yet we still improved.

I just don’t believe we are weaker let alone significantly weaker like everyone on here thinks. I’m sorry, I know negativity sells on here.

every successful coach i have met (and ive met a lot) all seem to have a few things in common. That is they like to do things 'their way' because that is what they have experienced and what works for them. They dont accept what people tell them on face value regardless of who that person is, they usually have a introverted personality in real life but not in their actual coaching and they push the rules and norms of the game to the limit to get an edge.
