He would be spot on for GCS.

Absolutely. He’s clearly the perfect coach for establishing a professional culture, drilling younger players into a competitive unit and preparing them for bigger things. He’s clearly incapable of taking the finished article and consistently winning games against fellow contenders and getting it done in the crucible of September.

So rather than ship him off to the Suns or Blues, who are crying out for his strengths, we’ll do that weird uniquely-AFL thing of going back to the well with the wrong man for our needs, until such time as he finally bottoms out and the industry agrees we’d be justified in letting him go.

It’s nuts.

Another master coach Bevo fact - In seven years as the coach of the Bulldogs, he's finished the minor round in the top 4 exactly zero times.

And in Ken's first 7 years he didn't either. Beverage in his time has won a flag and put himself in a position to win another.

He coaches the Bulldogs by the way. A club that has had a history of extreme limited success. He can coach. He's miles better than Hinkley. I really don't see what it is you are arguing.

Lol youse guys. You just don't get it!

Ken provides stability. He brings player contentment. He's not in it for the "sugar hit" of a flag every ten years or so. He gives us a steady progression and build up towards greatness (which may take another 5 to 10 years, cos the assistant coaches and players just don't have the patience to see his plan through).

Don't rock the boat peeps.
Our time will come, even if most of us are dead before it does.

I actually think the talk of Francou/Carr on the assistants board might be a thought.

If there aren’t any ramifications out of this to make Kens life a little but uncomfortable then we ain’t serious.

Maybe some assistants who can stir the pot, keep questioning him are what’s needed, make him crack and want to piss off.

If we just get the usual ‘sorry Voss, sorry Bass, sorry Monty’ you’re fired then we aren’t close to being serious.

There is no way Ken gets out of this Scott free and heads up the river with the boyz.

He lost a lot of credits out of this - this is 2007 levels of deplorable.

We just lost a game we didn’t even show up for which gave us a shot at a premiership.
NO, NO, NO. It's not about making Kens life a little uncomfortable moving forward. It's about moving him on. IMMEDIATELY

I fear our head coach is too nice. Players know they can waltz out on the park, with no commitment, knowing they'll get selected again next week. Motlop, Marshall and even dixon (the 2021 version who doesn't chase) are three examples.

One area out of Ken's control was injuries but we seem to back injured players like gray, dixon, butters, rozee over fit healthy players. I appreciate it is a gamble and hope they'll find form and get over injuries whilst getting game time but it rarely works. We have a squad for a reason.

Keith Thomas came out and called 2017 “a pass [mark]” in the aftermath of the Shuey Bowl, so you’re probably close.

Yes but on field performance is just one "metric", this needs to be put in language Koch can understand......:

"David..... Ken has not made our community feel very proud".

Might actually get somewhere with this approach.

Geez, listening to Voss at the moment on SEN. No wondering we are where we are today. Absolutely clueless senior coach and senior assistant.
"We had a bad night".
"I'm a strong change to be at Port Adelaide next year".
Resume normal programming.

If they try and pass that feeble effort off as `We had a bad night,' I fear the only thing left of the original PAFC is the address. :'(

So where to from here?

I believe we have a much better list than 2008, so I think we won’t get as mentally scared like we did after 07 GF. And I believe we have a much better list than 2015 when we had an absolute capitulation after thinking 2015 was just going to happen for us after 14.

If we keep Ken, I can’t see us being more than the middle of the road side still feasting on the carcass of the bottom 10 and capitulating against the top 8 sides but finishing 5-8 and having zero impact in finals is a complete waste of time.

New coach might give us the breath of fresh air to completely fix our game plan and actually finish top 4 again and contend. Or it could completely go the other way, which might not necessarily be a bad thing and contend again when our young brigade are in their prime.

TLDR; sack Hinkley.

What would Hinkley be on? $6-700k? A 6 month contract payout would therefore be $300-$350k? That's basically the salary of the 15th best player on your list. Its so ******* doable. Just ******* do it!
The club would never set up a Sack Hinkley fund because of the optics, but I would happily make a decent donation to the Chasing Greatness fund if I knew it was going towards recouping funds lost through getting him out.

When was the last time ken was on the phone barking orders?

Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
When Adam played fullback for Jerusalem. The infidels had started strongly when Ken got on the phone to God "give me a miracle".

The almighty said "no can do what about a contract extension instead". Now Humpty Dumpty who'd had a great fall said "that's what I call a miracle"
