He's definitely knows what accounting is. I'm sure he scrutinises his payslip to make sure it's all there.

“Hinkley's Port Adelaide has had its fair share of special moments over the past two seasons, when it has been the 'winningest' side in the AFL, tallying a competition-high 33 victories.”

“Hinkley has overseen many shifts from Port Adelaide in that time: he took over a bottom-five team that played at AAMI Stadium with a battling membership base and little appeal, and seen it rise into a reliable, contending side sparked by youth and an exciting brand off-field.”

"We don't shy away from the fact this football club expects to win a premiership in 2022. We also understand the challenges with that and if you get distracted by anything you'll get lost and you won't even be a chance to be playing in a premiership decider.”

Translation: "I can talk cheap and give zero f*cks about winning a premiership each year because I'll be able to make excuses for imploding once the whips are cracking and go to ground over the off-season with supreme confidence that I'll still be paid and have a secure job on my return."

Exactly! Last year it was judge me at the end of the season. Well we certainly did that.

Now it is "stay in today"

Changes the narrative to suit himself.

Coterie groups, members and media identities would obliterate a Carlton, Collingwood or West Coast coach for pulling this hopeless sh¡t in the media.

Here at Port we just trundle on while the bloke gets his nuts cupped by the Whateleys of the world.

I don't think Ken is a bad person, I just want him out of the club - it's clear that he's run his race and this will once again be shown with the results we see this year (I think this side will struggle to make the 8, in for a frustrating year). Whether the club acts on it of course is another discussion altogether.

I know there has been a lot of talk on here about replacing Hinkley with Clarkson, but I'm questioning whether Clarkson would in fact be the best candidate on the market. Resume wise he is, but one should also take into account the fact he hasn't coached a side to a finals win since 2015, and his sides in that time have significantly tailed off to the point where the club now needs to do a full blown rebuild. I like the "idea" of Clarko - that is someone who has won multiple premierships as a senior coach coming into a side ready to win premierships. At the same time, I look at his past 6 years of coaching in which he hasn't won a final and his teams have well and truly bottomed out, and I can only wonder whether he would be the best candidate right now to take over this team. I certainly have my doubts.
