Despite the public declaration of love for Ken, deep down I reckon the players know they'll be better off under a new coach. They've had the same voice at training since late in 2012, and as the old saying goes, familiarity breeds contempt. There are a number of players on our list, who I'm confident will play their best footy, once they've been de-Hinkleyed. It just has to happen now, or it might be too late.

The players have been complicit and been the first victims of Ken’s casualisation of the football club.

1-9 for the first 5 and last 5 games but everyone outside of BF has selective amnesia and only judges him on going 7-2 in the middle of the season.

We’d all be rocket scientists and brain surgeons if our school and uni exams were only marked on the answers we got right and not those we got wrong.

I sunk 18 putts when I last played golf. I'd rather talk about that, than the other 94 shots I played to get there.....

Has anybody under the age of 26 actually strongly publicly backed Ken?

It seems like all the senior guys have, who we are going to replace anyway.

I reckon we have someone lined up but i don't know who.

As a football club you are judged on results and at the end of the day, as long as the coach has been given the tools needed to obtain success there are no excuses. The coach of the PAFC has been given everything needed to succeed and also a generous decade to achieve it in but has failed, there is no silver ware in the cupboard.
After playing in preliminary finals the last 2 years the club does need to be judged harshly, it's a giant fall in season 2022 and there should be consequences for that.

A football club is not much different to a business that turns over millions of dollars, if it fails in areas over a decade those people get moved on it's not a personal thing, it's called fixing issues and making the business better.

It is only a fair call to give a fresh coach a chance while our list is not too shabby.

If our coach over the last decade was Clarkson with a decade of failure and was given full support of the board and chairman, given good assistant coaches it wouldn't make any difference to me, I would still want him moved on.

Success for the PAFC and it's loyal paying members is what the whole thing is about, not being nice guys.

Dixon's lack of smarts showed his support for Ken in the dying seconds of the game yesterday.

Not too long ago Boak not icing the game with a relatively easy shot at goal, showed his support too.

Maybe they should leave the on field support to players that hold their nerve and use their smarts under pressure like Jase Burgoyne.

After the disastrous 0-5 start to our season we have gone 8-6, so that's roughly a 60% win ratio, so 8 games remaining at 60% we would be on 13 wins, and still with the possibility of missing finals, so that's our season in a crude nut shell.

If we were 8-6 in our fist 14 games at round 15 with around 107% we would be around 10th - 11th so in reality not that great.

Just on the assistants, we didn’t really beef up that department last year, so watching with interest.

If Ken does stay do they beef that up knowing that there could be a new coach in 12 months time? If you were an assistant would you come here knowing that?

Feels like there could be something planned for this year and but who knows, not sure I have faith in the board to make a hard decision.

Yeah was thinking the same but Monty would be expecting to get the head coaching job, a new coach coming in only tells him , if you want the top job you will have to find a new club.

I had to come back to post this.
  • Not once have we been >50% against top 8 sides.
  • Over 10 years we win 1 in 3 against top 8 sides and almost 8 out of 10 against bottom 10 sides.
  • We exist to beat non-finalists.

Sums up the hinkley era

flat trackers

love to talk about what they will do but incapable of doing it

If Hinkley stays next year we are going to be stuck with the same assistant coaches.

No new assistant coach is going to come to Port with the realisation that they could be out of a job the following year when Hinkley's contract is not extended.

In that case another year of Hinkley, Chadbro and Bassett.
