Before today's game Koch confirmed Ken as coach with an exclamation mark!

It killed any hope that I placed in a few posters on here saying that turning up the heat on Ken would make him walk.

Koch prides himself on being a bullshitter , he is weak and can easily bend with force

He's a Victorian. He's one of the boys.

It's weird though, it's honestly bizarre. It's like the AFL have asked the media to go easy on Ken as Port can't afford to sack him and they can't bail us out again.
Matt Primus is Victorian

Matt Primus was one of the last public figures of Fitzroy

Matt Primus's grandfather has a stand in his honour at Kardinia Park

But he was the worst coach going round

I wish people wouldn't go quite so hard at McEntee. He's not a great player, and he's probably not long for our AFL list, or any other.

But it's also not McEntee's "fault" that he keeps getting selected. He's a young person pursuing what we ought to assume is his dream of playing AFL football, and I'm sure he gives whatever he's able to when he's on the field. What would we have him do - decline to play in a game, knowing full well that every game he does play in could be his last?

He's merely a symptom (and a minor one, at that) of the problems that plague our club, and the most pressing problem, as it has been for half a decade, is very clearly Hinkley.

So, don't allow yourself to be distracted. Don't allow yourself to direct at other targets the ire Hinkley so richly deserves. Make a "Sack Hinkley" sign, bring it with you to the Showdown, and hold it high and proud. Put as much pressure as you can on our gutless coach, chairman, board, and CEO. Make them feel the full weight of their own ineptitude. Don't stop until they crumble; until they've been sacked, or they resign in disgrace.

Above all, trust that solving the Hinkley problem will alleviate the symptoms.

Sack the worthless coward.
I feel like it's not anger here towards jed, we see he's not up to standard but just befuddled at how he gets picked by not seeming to earn it. Like good on him for getting picked, we know its not his fault. It's always laughing out loud at the continued hypocrisy of selection and double standards which comes from the top.

Then we make Koch's position untenable and make Hinkley so uncomfortable that he walks.

Most connected and engaged fans.

Remember when that was actually the case? Circa 2014-15? Even 2016?

I reckon the knuckleheads down there assumed we were absolutely cockahoop with our lot ‘now’, and not that the sky-high industry-leading approval ratings were largely predicated on the assumption we were now back to being Port Adelaide and were free to act like it — ie ruthlessly continue upon the trajectory towards premierships again.

But instead, they think the key to perpetual supporter happiness is the Adelaide Oval song, dance and variety hour, and a team that merely isn’t complete and utter wooden spoon-caliber dog droppings, a la the Primus austerity era.

‘We’re giving you that every year! What’s the problem?!’

One thing about the Hinkley regime that has stood out to me is the fact he considers himself an AFL coach first and foremost, and the club he coaches is secondary. Coach first. Port second.

With some clubs that might work. But not Port Adelaide. That’s not who we are. Our coach should consider himself a custodian only. And respect our history. And acknowledge that we are not the same as the rest of the Clubs.

With modern AFL so financially driven, it makes it almost impossible to have a coach who will put the club first, and their employment second.

With this in mind, I’ve been wondering whether it is worth doing something left field. What if we changed our constitution so that we put a time limit on the head coaches tenure. Say a maximum of 6 years. Two x 3 year deals. Almost US presidential like (although hopefully less Trumpy). No matter the success, after 6 years, we change.

This would take career coaches out of the picture. We would get a coach who knows they have a limited window to make a difference. Who know they are only custodians. Who know that the Club is always bigger than the coach.

Coaches come and go. The club lives forever.

Daddy Donuts being lavished with praise on First Crack - this time for getting the team to be able to commit and perform even though the season is over.

Of course, no questions asked as to why the season is over in round 22.

Is this just some elaborate joke and everyone is on it except us?

What about when the season was over last week?

It’s an avant garde suggestion, but it would unnecessarily hamstring the club if it managed to unearth the next Clarkson, Hardwick or Cahill.

The primary problem with Hinkley is, he’s tactically limited, and his gargantuan ‘if you’re not with me, you’re against me’ complex is an absolute millstone around the club’s neck that impedes honest and open critical review and improvement.

All this was well and truly apparent by the fifth season.

Tactically limited - his tactics only work against poor teams because our players are man for man better than them. If we play a team with equal competence we lose because of his tactics. That's why he has to go. Not because he's a d..kh..d or other personal traits.

What the actual feck

This is what Donuts said in 2019.
"I’m quite happy to say that my contract has clauses in it ... if you don’t perform, you don’t deserve to get those add-ons of a contract,” Hinkley told SEN radio.

"From my point of view, I’m more than comfortable and accept the responsibility of performance.

"At the time when I signed the contract, if I don’t perform and as a club we don’t perform that well, it’s probably that time (to leave).

Unbelievable.

This was obviously a lie as he negotiated it all out as soon as he could.
