You're correct, we as a fan base have been extremely impatient. Lets give him another 10 years to figure his s**t out then hey?
if waiting 10 years for a coach to at least reach a grand final is impatient what is sacking a coach in year 2 of a 3 year contract called

In year two, Hinkley was coaching a prelim final against Hawthorn with the likes of Jake Neade, Andrew Moore and Cam O'Shea in his best 22. It's also clear that Hinkley hasn't lost the players this year like Rutten has. The only agitation for change is coming from impatient fans who, let's face it, if we had played Sam Hayes for every game would be complaining that not playing Georgiades was the reason why we didn't make finals this year.

The situations are not even remotely the same.
I can agree, he wasnt a bad coach in 2014.

Its 2022.

How are the "national" media so blind to supporter sentiment. I mean even half assed media outlets cruise social media for stories, surely they'd have to see 600 pages of sack Hinkley and get a clue
Hopefully they'll know the truth on Saturday night when they watch the Showdown.

No premiership team has a perfect 22 or all aus depth , never has never will

It doesn't matter if Hinkley & the players are 'unbelievably connected' at some point you have to make the call that it's got you nowhere & the product is ugly. There's 10 years of evidence here.

Rutten is a different situation if he's out of his depth it's the right call.
The thing is players and coaches don't pay the bills, supporters and sponsors are a massive chunk of the clubs income, so may be it would be a good idea to hear what they think, it's a lot easier to take that support away than give it.

Even in 2014 he managed to bottle a 10-1 start by then losing 6 of the next 8 and missing top four.

North Melbourne will contact Ken Hinkley and Leon Cameron about its vacant coaching position if Alastair Clarkson turns the Kangaroos down.

North Melbourne has not given Clarkson an ultimatum for an answer today, but have instead asked for some sort of indication and an update on where he sits.

The Clarkson camp understands the Roos eventually need to broaden their thinking, while North Melbourne now knows Clarkson is considering the Bombers approach.

Janus occasionally sees the light like turning on Hinkley briefly & threatening to bash me in a matchday thread.. I like that Janus.
I already made my position on what I expect from Ken for the remainder of this year clear.

If he drops Burgoyne, he's dead to me.

Cool, and where does a few people wanting a coach sacked rank amongst those issues? I'm sure you can leverage the current long term critical global issue of sports fan rights to force a club to sack a coach you don't like, and it totally won't end up like the millions of other petitions that achieve absolutely nothing :thumbsu:

Maybe if someone had created a petition to stop the war in Ukraine it would be over by now :drunk:

Every situation is different but we have a fair bit of actual power here, given our continued support is what keeps the club alive. We just need to be organised and work collectively.

If every single Port supporter who wants a new coach brings a banner to the game and holds it aloft, Hinkley will walk on Monday of his own accord, faced with his enormous unpopularity.

Then it's a sliding scale down to just me. If it's just me, at best it gets some media attention because I get it on TV.

The idea that it's not worth doing is exactly what the club want us to think. We saw from the Port Road sticker how much attention this can generate. It is imperative that we don't allow the club to cruise on into the offseason thinking Ken Hinkley is a coach that the supporters are happy with.

Id rather we bring “We Love You Robbie” banners

Girl Why Dont We Have Both GIF

The game will be about Robbie, but for me, prior to the game and during NTUA if a group gathers on the Hill with the signs the point will be made at the time when cameras are most likely to be focused on the crowd. Once NTUA is done and the point made, we then back the team and show our love for Robbie.
