The ball travels 2 metres further we lose and there’d be none of this malarchy from Kornes & co

I took a great deal of notice of the free against Buddy not long before this from memory, the Sydney guy marked 30 out, free paid against Buddy - he didn't even touch Alir, no idea what free was for - also the Marshall free and goal, the defender literally used his strength.

The Marshall free kick was there every day of the week. If you push an opponent and don't make a play at the ball you will get called for a block. That is the rule and how it is interpreted.

Anyone who can't see why that is a free doesn't understand the rules.

I find it fascinating these ex players that are pro Hinkley are willing to burn whatever legacy they had with the most ardent and harcore supporters of this club for one man who will never contact them again once he moves back to Camperdown. That must be some mean Kool aid old Jimmy has been cooking up down there for 11 years.

In all seriousness, the only supporter and member engagement they regularly have is from the Ken Oath True Believers-type groups that will never say a cross word about the club and key figures in person, and have long since purged all dissenters (even moderate, mild and objectively constructive) from online spaces.

So when the post-Showdown grievances exploded, to them it feels like a johnny-cum-lately asteroid from nowhere, rather than a decade-plus long boilover (2005-Pres) from a rank’n’file that has been simmering with PTSD, anger and embarrassment for years.

“What on earth?! I didn’t hear anything like this at the end of all those seasons when Mr. Only My Opinion was sucking my plums!”

Yep couldn't have been more obvious.

If it had happened in the first quarter nobody would have even mentioned it.

There’d still be a bunch of pretty close bad luck gee we really pushed last year’s Grand Finalist talk but nothing like the vindication-induced priapisms on display here.

It’s absolutely ridiculous. Ignore the outrageous good fortune. Ignore the smashings from the previous two weeks. Ignore the decade-long performance yo-yoing and complete inability to rise to an occasion or achieve anything of note. Claim victory!

Even if we had beaten the Swans by 10 goals it would’ve proved nothing in isolation. Seriously how f@&king braindead are these people?

If we had a decent coach we would have been prepared from the start and not taken 1 1/2 quarters to kick a goal and would have been able to make adjustments to our gameplan to capitalise on the opposition missing two key defenders before half time

There seems to be a lot of crossover between people who believe this absolute delusion and people who think they're better than other fans because they're not barracking for us to lose. Guess what *ers, if we make finals we're getting another two years of Hinkley.

And making finals isn't just some pie-in-the-sky miracle. It's a real threat, and I use the term 'threat' deliberately. We've played probably 3 out of the best 5 times in the league and we're 2-2. The draw starts opening up pretty quickly from next week onwards.

I'd almost respect wanting to keep Hinkley more than the above. It's a dumb opinion but at least it's logically consistent, unlike wishy-washy bullshit like 'I want Hinkley and Koch gone but I still hope we win every game!' You can't have both. Decide what's more important; getting rid of the biggest cancers to ever step foot in our club, or winning some random H&A game that you'll have forgotten in three months' time.

Wanting Hinkley gone but still wanting us to win every game is knowing what the problem is but being too much of a coward to take the necessary hits to fix it, and then for some reason lashing out at those who are prepared to take those hits.

This goes for membership and buying merch, too

Sydney lost Paddy McCartin in the first ten minutes yet we serve up another Hinkley special goalless quarter. Sydney then lose Tom McCartin before half time and are down one player for the entire second half. The genius of Kenny Hinkley knows no bounds.

All praise Kenny Hinkley!

Yep. Imagine if we'd lost Aliir and then McKenzie if the situation was reversed. We would have lost by 10 goals.

God the irony

He and others should have spoken up late last year in support of stickerman. The silence then in the media was what was deafening.
What if Warren is stickerman 😅

I wonder what choco thinks lol

After the amount of heat he copped leading up to 2004... For a side that was actually good, just couldn't get it done in finals.

Then he watches this Muppet bumble around mid table for a decade, but gets defended by everyone

Can you imagine Allan Scott as sponsor with Hinkley in charge 🤣

I wish I could believe these morons wont extend him. That sugar hit of making finals but losing in the first round will be enough for them I fear.

Yep, after extending him without good cause twice, if Hinkley tells Koch he wants to coach on, the bar for an extension is probably lower than we all think. Koch hates difficult conversations, it's why he's a talk show host and not a proper chairman.

I can’t see a problem wanting the club to win every game, you and me know that’s not going to happen.
Our list is not good enough and that’s the main reason we are a middle of the table team.
Yes Ken is also a large factor but he’s not the be all and end all to our problems.
Realistically at best we are a 8 to 6th team and that’s not going to be good enough for Hinkley to get a extension.
Once you take all the emotion out of the discussion Ken will be gone.
As I have said many times before if we had a decent board Ken would have been gone years ago.
I’m more worried that Koch will still be there at years end than Ken.
Anyway we will see how it plays out,it’s disappointing the division’s it has caused on this forum.
Port supporters have always been a very united group, I seriously hope those days will return.

As much as Ken really needs to go, I also really need and want us to win regularly this year. Just realised how good it is for my mental health. As scrappy a win as it was, I feel a helluvalot brighter and more upbeat today than the past two weeks. Imagine if we had a coach and team who were reliable, bankable winners.

i was absolutely flat as a tack when that ball got touched before it reached the line. i jumped and went "YES!!" when it came off the boot then was so annoyed when it didn't make the journey.

I have not heard Ken say at any time that he wants to be coaching Port next year.

I have heard him say that he wants to " look at the year in its entirety " before a decision is made on his future. That was on 360.

From what Wazza has said about having a 5 year Bomber deal on offer and Koch standing in the way of him accepting it I'd actually be pretty dark about the whole situation re his future if I were Ken.

He's obviously going to see the year out our list in spite of obvious deficiencies in defence is as good as any list out there and pretty much every team has been shown issues so far except the Saints and that will come.

I'm comfortable Ken won't be here next year and it's mutual.

If Ken says he wants to be here next year I'd worry.

He threatened to walk to GC with a year left. You reap what you sow, bald man.
