I've gotta say, I thought you were just being ultra negative but turns out you were bang on the money the whole time. Never deviated once. I was living in semi-fantasy land.

I just knew that Koch would never have the balls to go against the media and ditch Ken if we made finals. Finals is such a low bar with the list he has but it's Koch's definition of success.

Well that’s mainly up to the players.
You can actually support the team(players) without supporting the coach or administrators.
That’s how I’ve been looking at it, if people can’t support the team then there better off finding another interest.

Because if we look shaky against Freo or fail again in finals then yet another unwarranted contract extension looks completely indefensible and will get the full spotlight, even from those media vultures who have backed Ken in the most. No mention of any succession plan, except, of course, from Ken: outwait Josh, and be "last man standing" for 2026. Well, Ken's getting on, make that "last man sitting on the bench" for 2026...

Josh is looking forward to continuing to hone his craft here at Port Adelaide and I know he will be a senior coach one day.

I’m looking forward to coaching this playing group for at least the next two years beyond this season.

Ken's been gifted so much undeserved opportunity this last five years or so. I'm at the point where part of the desperation for a flag is so that he just ****s off on his own terms and retires.

Had to laugh at Ricci's editorial the other day, last paragraph stating we're on track for another PF - the third in 4 years, continuing our rich vein of recent success
He's obviously missed the bit that says success at the PAFC is measured in premierships - not thirds or fourth placings.
Talk about setting the bar at limbo level low.

Remember when Bob McLean sacked a coach who won 5 premierships in a row because he wanted a playing coach and Port promptly won a 6th premiership in a row? Then a few years later he sacked that coach for only making two preliminary finals in a row? And we won 3 out of the next 4 premierships.

To be honest I don't, but I read about it.

After 13 wins in a row the decision was hardly likely to be any different. Given David Koch's thinking if we made the finals Ken was always likely to get an extension the only question was did this contract extension rely on Port winning a final or two? Obviously the answer is no. Not the result most of us wanted but we simply have to roll with it and hope there is a succession plan in place.

Regardless as to what we think Ken is a 'player's man' and hopefully this inspires the players to perform. I do not mind if they do it for Ken just as long as they do the business.

I’m uninvested at this point. Make a GF and that might change but I’ll be treating a PF appearance , if we make it, with the same indifference as I’ve been treating
